Education Facilitator
Movieworld Educations Program/Workshops
I still remember, as a school student, my Movieworld education session in 1999.
The session was held at the Maverick Showstage and I recall being not only being educated but being inspired. The performer/educator demonstrated make up, talked about performance as an art form. Asked us the question 'Do you have an agent?'. You should get one. It was a peak behind the curtain of what it takes as a working professional. The skills, mind set, talent, drive and passion required. I walked away thinking 'I have to be in entertainment!'. I completely connected with the whole concept. It was exciting. I never forgot it.
7 years later, I joined the program as an Education Facilitator. Hoping to encourage and promote the dreams of aspiring young singers, actors, dancers and talent wishing to enter the world of entertainment. I loved giving back so much, it moulded me into the Voice Production Singing Teacher I am today.
Programs varied over the 12 years I was involved including Park Tours, Make-Up/Characterisation/Theatre Sports, Vocal & Physical Warm Ups, A Day In The Life Of, Screen Acting, Lights, Camera, Action!, Australian School Curriculum.
Teaching school students in all those different Movieworld venues changing from Maverick Showstage, Toons River Ride Entry, HSD Set, Rick's Cafe and Scooby Doo Training Room. Always, to start the day, first thing, at 8am.
Many fond memories, laughs, insights, inspiration through the years simply learning from each other whilst conducting these workshops alongside my fellow colleagues and friends.
Educating and mentoring early on in my career was the foundation of wanting to give back more to an industry that has given me so much. It is about passing on your knowledge of your craft, your gift.
Helping the student find their voice. Teaching with the lessons you have learnt. Valid points I teach every session at my studio. Forever Grateful!!
