Creating meaningful opportunities for our students to listen, learn, connect and grow 🖤💛❤️
❤️ As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, our school community came together for a powerful Smoking Ceremony led by Uncle Dean. His sharing gave our students, staff and families an opportunity to listen, learn and connect. We are grateful to Uncle Dean for sharing his knowledge, stories and perspectives with us. The impact of the experience continued long after the ceremony ended. One group of students gathered sticks, leaves and bark and created their own ceremony through imaginative play — a wonderful example of how authentic learning inspires curiosity, creativity and connection.
💛 Every student from Kindergarten to Year 6 collaborated with our AEO, Rachel, to share their stories through rock art. These pieces will come together as a whole-school garden artwork, celebrating all our students, our staff and their stories.
🖤Lunchtime Yerrowah Yarns has begun, creating a space for all students to yarn, connect and share.
