Loftus Public School Loftus Public School extends a warm welcome to all our families and interested community members.

🔦😂 TAC - Takes a Community Event – Jokes on You! 😂🔦

What a night at Loftus Public School! Our families grabbed their torches and explored the school, stopping along the way to answer jokes and share plenty of laughs! 🤣✨

And of course, no community event is complete without a sausage sizzle! 🌭

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff who stayed back to support the event — cooking sausages, setting up, packing up and helping make the night such a success. 💙

It really does take a community! Thank you to all our families for coming along and making it such a fun night. ✨

What an incredible effort from our Year 6 Vinnies Sleepout fundraiser!

Led by four passionate Year 6 students, this initiative raised an amazing $2,600 to support the important work of Vinnies. A special thank you to our P&C, who generously donated $1,000 to a local charity Project Youth on behalf of the Year 6 Cohort and provided food for the event.

We would also like to thank the staff who gave up their time to stay overnight and support our students.

We are so proud of the leadership, compassion and community spirit shown by everyone involved. 💙💛

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ What an incredible achievement by our 11 students who competed at the Sydney East Athletics Championships this week!

A huge congratulations to three of our students, who have qualified to represent Sydney East at the State Athletics Championships next term in multiple events. We’re also thrilled that our Junior Boys Relay Team will be heading to State!

To top it all off, Loftus Public School finished an amazing 2ND overall across all Sydney East schools — an outstanding result for Loftus Public School!

🐝 Our Kindergarten students have been busy studying blue-banded bees and learning all about their unique habitats.

Students worked together to build a bee hotel for blue-banded bees. The finished bee hotels are now proudly on display at school.

📚➕ Literacy and Numeracy Week 2026 ➕📚

During Literacy and Numeracy Week 2026, 3/4J enthusiastically participated in a numeracy task that challenged students to think creatively and apply their mathematical understanding.

Students worked collaboratively, using their communication and Working Mathematically skills to explore and solve an open-ended problem.

It was fantastic to see such great engagement from Stage 2, with students sharing ideas, explaining their mathematical thinking and persevering as they explored different possible solutions.

3/4J demonstrated that mathematics is not just about finding an answer, but about thinking, communicating and exploring possibilities together! 🔢💡🤝

🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Happy SASS Week!

This week, we proudly celebrate the superheroes of Loftus Public School – our amazing School Administrative and Support Staff.

Whether they’re welcoming families in the office, supporting students in classrooms and on the playground, keeping our grounds looking great, or helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes, their dedication, care and hard work make a difference every single day.

Our AEO, Rachel, led a meaningful Yerrowah Yarn session where students learned about the significance of the emu and the important lessons it teaches us. As the emu cannot walk backwards, it reminds us to keep moving forward, embrace each new day and stay grounded in who we are.

Students explored emu feathers and emu eggs, and some students also opted to join in weaving, building their cultural knowledge and connections.

All students are welcome to join us at Yerrowah Yarns in the Library every Wednesday fortnight as we learn, share and connect together.
