At Lobethal Community Kindergarten, we offer a high quality learning environment that is built on the strong foundations of nurturing relationships, love and humour. Our kindy is a place of learning which is child focussed, emergent and based around the thoughts and ideas of the children who attend. We run a play based curriculum which is nature inspired and which enables children to learn, explore, socialise, risk take and make mistakes in a safe and loving environment. Nature Connect is Lobethal Community Kindergartens off site bush Kindy Program. The pilot program was launched with outdoor kindy week being held at Bushland Park in Term 2, 2015, and in 2022 the program is held with all kindy sessions in the even weeks of term being held at the park. Building strong, sustainable reciprocal relationships with families, local community groups, children, staff and the park itself are seen as intergral to the program. Our Centre is rated as "Exceeding NQS" By ACECQA, and currently holds its second excellent rating in a row, Making us one of the highest rated services in the nation.

Less than 2 weeks until our 60th birthday party 🥳 and we are in full party mode.
Our beautiful Apple tree has stood proud in the middle of the garden for a long time.
Does anyone remember when it was planted and what type of apple tree it is?

In 1975 our kindergarten was outgrowing the number of children attending. The Kindergarten committee raised funds to build extensions on the original building. Adding a storeroom and office.
We are digging into the archives and this and so much more will be on display on the 23rd of October. Everyone is welcome to help celebrate this wonderful story of community and commitment.

The power of community in Lobethal is evident in the establishment and building of the purpose built centre in 1966. The donation of land by prominent local Family, the Bartholomews in their new subdivision made it possible for the Kindergarten Committee to use funds that they had been raising, to commence the building of the kindergarten. Which was then opened by Sir Thomas Playford on October 22nd 1966.
