Technology will play a great role in the lives of our children. To meet this challenge, our school recognises the need for a new approach to the curriculum. This means a new approach to learning and teaching and the integration of learning technologies. A range of technologies – interactive whiteboards, laptop computers, email facilities, and online reference material – enable our students to collaborate with other learners, whether it be in the same room, the next classroom, a classroom elsewhere in the diocese, or elsewhere in the world. Access to online resources will encourage collaborative learning and bring the global school one step closer to reality. Access to learning technologies in the classroom at Xavier College sees the constant evolution of a new positive partnership between our students and teachers. The outcome of this partnership is our students becoming responsible and ethical users of technology.

💧🌏 Year 8 Geography at Warragamba Dam!

This week, our Year 8 students visited Warragamba Dam for an immersive fieldwork experience as part of their Geography topic, Water in the World. 📚✨

Students were given a special behind-the-scenes look at areas not normally accessible to the public, including the maintenance tunnels, valve room, pipeline to Sydney, and even the dam wall itself! 🙌

Throughout the day, students tested water turbidity, explored the catchment and water quality, participated in orienteering, and used specialised equipment to record weather conditions. 🌦️💧

A huge thank you to the WaterNSW education team for guiding our students through such an engaging and memorable learning experience! 👏💙

The students have claimed their first-ever Trefoni Trophy volleyball victory, defeating the teachers 2 sets to 1! 🙌

It all came down to a thrilling final set, with the students holding their nerve to win 9–7 and secure an unforgettable victory. What an incredible display of teamwork, determination and Xavier spirit! 🏆👏

🎯🪵 Last Friday, our Year 11 Industrial Technology Timber students were making fantastic progress on their dartboard cabinet projects!

Many students were fitting their doors and moving into the final stages of construction, putting their production skills, practical knowledge and attention to detail into action. It was great to see their hard work taking shape! 👏✨
