Congratulations to our Year 8 debating team – Lucinda, Harnour, Charmaine and Melak – who won their debate against St Joseph’s High School.
The team successfully argued the affirmative side of the topic: “That we should ban laptops in classrooms.” The students demonstrated excellent teamwork, critical thinking and public speaking skills throughout the debate. Well done to our students on this fantastic achievement!

Today, the SLC had the privilege of hosting our Global Parents Day morning tea. We would like to sincerely thank the parents and carers who took time out of their day to join us for this special celebration alongside their children.
The event was a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the invaluable role families play in supporting, guiding and shaping our school community. We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support, care and encouragement our families provide each and every day.
Thank you to our wonderful families for all that you do.

As we reach the halfway point of the term, our DLU students have been actively participating in a range of activities.
🚀 From creative STEM tiny home builds to epic boxing excursions 🥊, school gym adventures, and colourful Pop Art self-portraits 🎨, they’re showing off their skills, teamwork, and tons of enthusiasm.
We love seeing confidence grow as students try new things and support each other. Keep up the awesome work team, we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings! 👏
A huge thank you to all our wonderful students, staff, and families for making these experiences possible and supporting our students every step of the way!

The Opens Netball Team recently competed in a knockout tournament. The girls played hard and represented the school well to come away second overall. A great day and a great effort by all.

Today, our Vice-Captains, Anjani and Qadan, attended the Parliament of NSW Secondary Schools Leadership Program. Throughout the day, they had the opportunity to engage with a panel of MPs, asking questions about leadership and learning more about the electoral process from the NSW Electoral Commission. They were also welcomed to watch Question Time in both the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council, which was an incredibly eye-opening experience.
A special thank you to for taking the time to share her experiences with our students and their peers from , and .
Anjani and Qadan also had the opportunity to explore Government House and to listen to Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, speak.
It was an insightful and memorable day filled with valuable learning experiences and opportunities for our student leaders.
