You asked and we delivered! The Student Representative Council requested that we form a Chess Club during lunch times. There was a huge turn out and Mrs Wood was impressed by the skill level of our students. Great work SRC in being advocates for your peers!

Following staff participation in Learning Circles professional learning, where we reflected on and evaluated our current Personalised Learning Plans, we are excited to begin trialling a new format for our personalised plans at Zig Zag Public School.

Our new approach places student voice at the centre. Students will begin by identifying their aspirations, goals and dreams for the future before inviting their families to work alongside them to finalise their plans.

Students are also excited about selecting mentors to support, encourage and help them work towards their aspirations.

We look forward to strengthening partnerships with our students and families through a process that celebrates strengths, values student voice and supports every child to imagine and achieve their future goals. 💛🖤❤️

🌟 Year 6 Peer Support Leadership Training 🌟

Our Year 6 students have spent two fantastic days developing the skills they will need to lead our Peer Support Groups next term.

Through fun, hands-on activities, they explored teamwork, communication, problem solving, decision making, active listening, group management and positive leadership. They also practised through role plays, explored their session plans and reflected on their own strengths.

It was wonderful to see our students stepping up, supporting one another and embracing their role as leaders. We are excited to see them put these skills into action next term! 💛🖤

The Sydney Zoo was a hit with all of our students and staff. A huge day but also a huge success!

Stage 3 have been exploring different media and techniques in their artmaking. Students began by taking three photos of our beautiful playground, then selected and aspect from each photo to inspire three unique artworks. They experiemented with a variety of materials and techniques to bring their ideas to life. Once completed, students photgraphed their artworks and used Canva AI to creatively meld the three images together, combining art and technology to produce some amazing final pieces.

Our Student Representative Council work really hard for our students and when they asked to run a special day for all of their friends- we just couldn't say no! They've planned a range of activities and will be developing their own leadership skills throughout the day by running the events.

Recently we had a fantastic day at Lithgow High School engaging in sports and connecting with culture.
