Social media is used in Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB) to help create vibrant Catholic school communities of faith and learning. In this context, social media is any form of online presence used in valid educational contexts that facilitates inclusive relationships, contemporary communities and multi-directional interac

tive exchange of information, conversation or activity. Users of social media are required to manage their digital footprint by interacting responsibly and ethically, in line with our Catholic ethos, respecting the dignity of all involved. CEDB maintains a social media presence on various platforms. Users of social media should consider their rights and responsibilities for promoting the respect and dignity of all participants. Social Media Standards
CEDB encourages the use of social media for open and productive dialogue. When using social media it is expected
that individuals will:
● respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of self and others
● promote Catholic values and perspectives
● refrain from behaviour which may bring the school or CEDB into disrepute
● not publicly criticise CEDB, schools, staff or students
● maintain appropriate security measures
● align their actions and interactions with the Policies of the CEDB and school
● align with the parameters of the intended purpose of the social media presence. In order to create a positive experience and the maintenance of respectful relationships it is expected that material posted:
● will not defame, discriminate, offend, abuse, harass, intimidate, threaten or insult
● does not constitute trolling ;
● is not unlawful or infringe copyright or any other intellectual property rights;
● does not breach or invade anyone’s privacy;
● does not impersonate or misrepresent any person, organisation or entity;
● does not consist of any proprietary, confidential, sensitive or private information;
● does not constitute spam, unauthorised advertising or soliciting, or links that contain any kind of virus, spyware or malware;
● is not off-topic, redundant or excessively long. Social Media and Privacy

YEAR 5 TASTE OF HIGH SCHOOL DAY

What a fantastic day we had today welcoming Year 5 students from surrounding schools to La Salle Academy for our Taste of High School Day!
The Year 5's took part in a range of fun, hands-on activities across Japanese, Food Technology, Science and Aboriginal Education. From exploring Japanese culture and decorating cupcakes, to discovering how germs spread and learning about Aboriginal culture, language and traditions, there was plenty to keep everyone busy, and plenty of smiles along the way!
A huge thank you to Mrs Markovic and all the staff who ran today's activities and made the day such a success.
And a very special shout-out to our wonderful Year 10 Peer Support students! They were fantastic throughout the day, helping our Year 5 visitors, getting involved in the activities and making everyone feel welcome.
And of course, a big thank you to the boys on the BBQ for providing a yummy lunch!

YEAR 12 WELLBEING DAY!
Our Year 12 students finished their HSC trial exams yesterday, and with only 5 weeks left of school, they are getting ready to knuckle down for their final run to the HSC exams. To provide a re-set and a short break for the intensity of exams and study, we had a Wellbeing Day at FlipOut Penrith and the Escape Rooms at Penrith today. An amazing day of fun, smiles, friendship in a totally stress free environment! Thanks Mrs Walker for organising a great day!

What a fantastic night at our third Youth Group gathering! 🙌

Last night, Year 6 - 12 students took over the gym for a sports-themed evening filled with plenty of fun, laughter, friendly competition and, most importantly, friendship.
It was wonderful to see students from different year groups coming together, getting involved, cheering each other on and simply enjoying being part of our school community.
A huge thank you to Mrs Wilsmore-Smith, Olly, Fr Reymold and everyone who helped make the night such a success, and to all our students who brought such great energy and enthusiasm! 👏
We’re already looking forward to the next Youth Group gathering!

A FANTASTIC DAY WITH YEAR 4!

Yesterday, La Salle Academy had the wonderful opportunity to welcome Year 4 students from St Patrick's Lithgow and St Joseph's Portland for our Connection and Community Retreat Day.
Throughout the day, students explored what it means to belong, connect and grow together, reflecting on the importance of friendship, unity, uniqueness, gratitude, prayer and teamwork. Through prayer, reflection, group challenges and plenty of fun, students were reminded that each of us is uniquely created by God and that we all have something special to contribute to our community.
A highlight of the day was seeing our students build new friendships, encourage one another and discover that strong communities are created when we show kindness, gratitude and support for those around us.
A special thank you to our Year 10 La Salle Academy Youth Ministry Team who helped facilitate the day. It was wonderful to see them leading, encouraging and supporting our younger students and putting our Lasallian values into action.
We hope our Year 4 students left knowing that they are valued, they belong, and they are never alone on their journey.

PERFORMING ARTS PRECINCT 🎭🎸🎤🩰🎼

A little while ago, we gave you a sneak peek of our newly renovated Performing Arts Precinct. Now, we're excited to officially share this incredible space!
Our students have been making the most of these outstanding new facilities, and it's wonderful to see the precinct already buzzing with creativity, collaboration and talent.
Designed to inspire, the new Performing Arts block provides modern, purpose-built learning spaces for Music, Dance, Drama and Choir. Whether students are rehearsing, performing, composing or developing new skills, they now have a beautiful environment that supports their creativity and passion for the performing arts.
We look forward to seeing this space come alive with performances, rehearsals and memorable moments for many years to come.

💙👖 What an incredible Jeans for Genes Day! 👖💙

A huge thank you to our wonderful school community for making today's Jeans for Genes fundraiser such a fantastic success!
A very special thank you to Ms Walker and her amazing senior Science students, who baked an incredible selection of delicious treats for our Bake It Blue cake stall. Your hard work, enthusiasm and generosity were outstanding, and the goodies were a huge hit!
Thank you to every student who wore their jeans and made a donation. Your kindness and willingness to support such an important cause was truly heartwarming.
A big thank you also to our staff and families who baked, donated and proudly wore their jeans in support of the day. Every contribution made a difference.
Together, we raised over $2,000 - an absolutely incredible effort!
Thank you for helping us support vital genetic research and for showing what an amazing, caring community we have here at La Salle Academy. 💙
