A trip to Newcastle this weekend for Tahli & Ari to compete in the Newcastle Highland Dancing Association June Competition.

Another great day of competition at the Dancing Association of Australia Festival of Dance.
A fabulous effort by Tahli, picking up 2 x 1st places & 2 x 2nd places in the 11 & Under Premier Title, and Samara, who placed 5th in the 15 & Under Premier Closed Championship Fling. Well done girls!

A wonderful day of dancing today at the SDAA Festival of Dance. Congratulations to Tahli and Samara both gaining dance placings in their championships.
Special congratulations to Tahli who was competing for the first time at Premier level, and won 1st place in the Restricted Premier Title and 1st place in the Restricted Premier Trophy dance.

The Lithgow Thistles Highland Dancers are incredibly grateful for the generosity of the Wallerawang Bowling Club, the charity bingo organisers and the local community, who together raised an amazing $1,199.10 for our dance school.

These funds will help support our young dancers as they travel to represent Lithgow on stages across NSW and interstate at upcoming Highland Dancing Championships. The donation will also assist with preparations to host another Highland Dancing competition in Lithgow in 2027, which we hope will once again attract dancers from across NSW and interstate.

A special thank you to Coles for donating a voucher and Sirens Hair Studio for donating hair packs for the raffle prizes. Your support means so much to our dancers and families. 💜

This weekend was a busy one for our dancers. Saturday, some of the dancers joined with Macquarie Highland Dance Academy and the La Belle School of dance to perform at Bathurst Show. Sunday was the Scots All Sants College Competition in Bathurst with some lovely dancing, lots of fun and a collection of prizes.
Well done dancers!

What a fabulous weekend for our dancers at the Champion of Champions Gold Coast 2026. This is the biggest Highland dancing event held in Australia every 2 years with hundreds of competitors from all over Australia attending. All 3 of our dancers picked up places amidst very tough competition and we're very proud of their efforts! Special mention for Tahli Simpson who won the overall aggregate in Intermediate level.
Such an encouraging and supportive team to be a part of! Well done dancers & families!
