In 2025, Youth week is celebrating the unique strengths of every young person, so join us and share your voice with a free class hosted at Maldhan Ngurr Ngurra Lithgow Transformation Hub
During the day you will develop the initial idea for your podcast series, develop your voice and presentation skills, create your brand and record your intro to your series.
This event is suitable for youth aged 12 - 18 in the Lithgow LGA.
Supported by the NSW Government's Country Arts Support Program Through Arts Out West.

There are only five places remaining for the Australian Native Bee Workshop presented by Dr Megan Halcroft.
The day will include:
A seminar-style presentation
A light lunch
Bee hotel workshop*
The seminar-style presentation will cover:
The importance of pollinators (bees) in our ecosystems
Plant and bee co-evolution (best pollinators)
A brief comparison of Australia’s social bees (honey and stingless bees)
Australia’s native solitary and semi-social bees
How to support native bee populations in our environment
Understanding the ‘other’ bugs in our environment
Questions.
During the hands-on, bee hotel workshop, participants will:
Need to bring a pair of secateurs
Where closed shoes
Work in groups and learn to make a simple bee hotel with bamboo
Learn how to use bee hotels to help grow native bee populations
Take home their bee hotel.

This week we began the Voices of Lithgow Youth Podcast Masterclass series. The participants worked with professional writer, director, comedian and actor, Dr Kate Smith, to explore and unpack the possibilities their podcast series.
