Let's just take a moment to recognise and congratulate the 2022 year 12 graduates of Trinity Catholic College Lismore!! Their achievements this year are nothing short of phenomenal. Their leadership and efforts have been inspiring and will continue to motivate and inspire staff and students for many many years. They lost their school, their work and soo much time to this year's flood and still led with integrity, faith and strength. Thank you year 12s, we are soo excited for your next chapters, wherever they may take you!!!

Happy Book Week all!!!
I preach this all the time, but here is just another reason to love books!!! They seriously brought us together as a school community this week!! A family!!! The efforts of staff, and all parties to make this week special and memorable for our students who have lost soooo much this year, struggled with us through our transition to dry land, and endured change with such an amazing attitude, was a mammoth one but soooooo worth it. From an all school scavenger hunt, to the fabulous costumes and the epic staff tshirts, we have started book week with the most incredible bang!!! We may not have a library set up yet, but the library spirit and the love for books is still strong!!

This was my day yesterday!! We may not have a school library post flood, but that is TEMPORARY. This is just a reminder that even though we are libraryless we are still here!! This was my view yesterday as the librarian and I worked tirelessly to cover and catalogue the amazing new resources that are coming in to replace the thousands upon thousands we lost!!! Texts for English classes, textbooks for textiles classes and child studies and even fiction books ready to shelve when we gain a library space!!! It feels good to be surrounded by books again!!!! Missing you all!!!

And just like that, Term 2 2022 has begun!!! Trinity Catholic College Lismore may have lost everything in the Lismore floods, but our spirit, our sense of faith, community, team work and passion is sooo alive!!! Two different campuses and what an amazing effort, from staff, students and families!! We are still libraryless, but our amazing E-Book app has some amazing new releases available, and some classics also!!! To check it out, head to the library page via Lighthouse. Sooo worth it!!! We miss the Library and our regulars, but this journey has only just begun, and I'm excited to see where it takes us!!! See you all soon!!

Sooo I know it has been a while since we posted. It's been a little difficult to find the content lol! The flood hit our school and our community with all the force it had, but we have risen above the water, and our amazing leadership, within two weeks, found a place and are creating spaces for us to continue our journey as a community, together. And then there was the flood 2.0!! But yet again, we welcome our students back to our current space. Seems obvious we can't be held down!!!! We may not have a library right now, but we do have each other. The library staff are around the current campus, doing whatever it takes to make your day, and our transition as smooth as it can be. Our hope is high. And on a side note.... You can still borrow amazing titles from Wheelers (our e-book platform). Just head to the library page through lighthouse and click on the link.

We miss our library, we miss our school, but most of all we have missed you guys!!! I am sooo excited about seeing everyone at some stage this week!! This adventure we're all about to embark on together, we do together!! Our journeys are still incredibly intertwined, and our motivation and will is stronger than ever. We're still reading the same book Trinity family, we have just reached a new chapter. The flood has challenged us in sooo many ways, but I am so inspired by our community, by our families and by our leadership team who have worked tirelessly to create a safe space for us all. I cannot wait to see you all throughout the week!

Yesterday we acknowledged International Women's Day. Today I found these exceptional reads available through our online E-Book platform 'Wheelers'. These books are about women who are human rights advocates, women who have changed the world we live in, a business mogul, and wartimes heroes!!! I always feel the need to read in accordance to the occasion, and these reads are a perfect way to celebrate 'Women's History Month'! Currently our school community, due to the flood disaster, has no access to our hard copy library books, or our school, but if you feel the need to escape into a book for a while and are running out of reading material, make use of the variety and choices on 'Wheelers'. You can access these books via the app if you have it, or the link https://tccl.wheelers.co/browse
We miss you all!!!

Today is International Womens Day!!!
Today we break the bias!!! We are fighting for a world that is free from sterotypes, bias and discrimination, we are fighting for equality!!! Imagine a time when we don't have an International Womens Day, because it is no longer relevant, because we are all equal.... that is what we are fighting for!!!

O.M.G!! Okay I have been sitting on this one for a looong time!!! Our language has evolved soooo much throughout time, think Shakespeare, to Austen and now, I very rarely get a text where the correct language has been used, and that's if there is anything more than emojis on the screen!!!!! Soo to think that OMG has been traced all the way back to 1917, in a letter to Winston Churchill from a British Admiral, John Fisher in regards to some headlines he found upsetting!!!! What a trail blazer!!!
