On Tuesday 25 August, all Year 10 students attended the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) education program. Students were outstanding ambassadors for our school values, demonstrating a high level of engagement and participation throughout the day.
RYDA is an engaging road safety initiative designed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and awareness needed to stay safe on Australian roads. Throughout the day, students participated in six interactive small-group workshops led by trained facilitators, including police officers, driving instructors and community safety specialists. The sessions explored important topics such as hazard perception, speed and stopping distances, distraction, decision-making, and the responsibilities that come with being a road user.
We thank the RYDA team, Rotary and all presenters for delivering such a meaningful and impactful program. A special thank you to Mr Lanham for his organisation and planning, which made this opportunity possible for our students, and to the staff who accompanied and supported students throughout the day.
