๐Ÿ† North Shore Cluster Debating ๐Ÿ†

A recent round of the cluster debating season brought two wins for our teams, with students rising to the occasion with enthusiasm and skill. ๐ŸŽ‰ Both teams achieved a double win, demonstrating strong arguments, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The affirmative team travelled to Sacred Heart, while the negative team remained at Holy Family to compete against Sacred Heartโ€™s visiting team.

Both teams debated confidently on the topic: โ€œIt is okay to break a rule if that rule is unfair.โ€ โš–๏ธ They delivered thoughtful arguments, clear rebuttals, and strong collaboration throughout each round.

Overall, students showed maturity, respect, and growing skill, making it a successful start to the season

ALL IN for Reconciliation- National Reconciliation Week 2026
27 May โ€“ 3 June

This week, we join communities across Australia in recognising National Reconciliation Week, a time to learn about our shared histories, honour the cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and reflect on how each of us can contribute to reconciliation.

This yearโ€™s theme, All In, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day, through listening, embracing truth telling, learning, respect and meaningful action. As we acknowledge 25 years of Reconciliation Australia, we recognise both the progress made and the important work still ahead.

Across our schools and communities, we invite our students, families and staff to be All In, to deepen understanding, celebrate culture, and continue walking together toward a more just and connected future.

National Sorry Day

On 26 May, we acknowledge National Sorry Day, a day of reflection, respect and remembrance across our education communities.
National Sorry Day honours the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations Survivors and acknowledges the lasting impacts of policies that led to the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities and Country.
It is a day that calls us to truth-telling and understanding, recognising that reconciliation is an ongoing commitment, grounded in listening, learning and walking together with respect.
Across our education system, we pause to reflect, learn and engage in conversations that deepen understanding and strengthen our collective commitment to reconciliation.
We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present, and to the continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
