WAY TO GO RAYNER ST DANCE COMPANY! 💛

What a way to start the weekend! Congratulations to our Rayner St Dance Company — Winners of the Infants Dance Category at the Dance Life Unite National Dance Competition at UNSW Science Theatre!

Competing against 3 private/independent schools with their routine "Ride the Wave", our youngest dance company danced their hearts out and took the win for the OGPS Dance Department AND for public education! For many of these dancers, this was their very first time on stage under the bright lights. Their kindness towards other schools and exemplary behaviour backstage was beautiful to watch too!

Huge shout out to super coach Miss Srejic and choreographer Miss Georgia from Groove Nation — a dynamic duo now 2 years strong! Special thanks to all the families, we couldn't do this without you!

POPSTAR PATHWAYS 🇦🇺🟢🟡🎵

Stage 2 went on a "Popstar Pathways" journey in Performing Arts! Years 3 and 4 mastered song structure, tone colour, and storytelling, rewriting hits to celebrate our athletes who competed in the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Their talent and teamwork created anthems every Australian would be proud of! Check out this reimagined pop hit from these students in 3Barrier Reef.

BOOK WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2026 🎉📚😍

Symphony of Stories was in full swing today! So much fun was had by all with SO many characters at our annual K-2 Book Character Parade and 3-6 Dress Up! From classic fairytales to modern favourites, Orange Grove Public School was bursting with imagination. A huge thank you to Mr Graham for his amazing coordination!

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF DANCESPORT 🎉👏🏻
DANCESPORT GALA: 20TH ANNIVERSARY 🕺💃🏆

Massive congrats to our 2026 DanceSport team for shining bright at Sydney Olympic Park! With 27 schools, 800 students, and an energetic audience, we witnessed an unforgettable display of colour, energy, and joy under dazzling lights and the keen eyes of the judges.

🏅 Student Achievement Award: Phoebe & Will

Team OGPS achieved a wonderful feat — reaching 3 finals and 1 semi-final! But that’s not all...

Our very own Evelyn and Mark (who only stepped in as our 30th member just 2 weeks ago), won the coveted WILDCARD/JUDGE'S CHOICE for Tango Group B, advancing all the way to the semi-finals! This is the third straight year an OGPS couple were chosen as wildcards, a phenomenal achievement!! Our very own Phoebe and Will were also recognised as recipients of the DanceSport Student Achievement Award, embodying all the program's values over the 15 week period.

A massive thank you to:
⭐ Miss Jovevski for leading and coordinating this year's team with so much passion
⭐ Mr Campbell, our amazing ballroom dance tutor
⭐ Mr Tan for his mentorship and for sharing his knowledge and expertise of all things DanceSport
⭐ Ms Thomson, Mr Payne, Mrs Jovevski, Ms Henness, and all our family members for the loud cheers, applause and encouragement
⭐ All the wonderful Mums who assisted with costumes, hair and makeup

Team OGPS, you've outdone yourselves! 10 years of DanceSport since joining the program in 2016 and we're beyond proud of everyone's achievements, teamwork, and dedication! Congratulations on an unforgettable night of dance, sportsmanship, and joy!

What a day at the Paul Kelly Cup Regional Finals! Despite the dreary weather, our Year 6 boys gave it their all — 2 close games and heaps of heart. Big thanks to Mr Price and Mr Kelliher for leading the team, and to our parents for their endless support.

GALLERY 2040 ART SHOW PREPARATIONS 🎨🖼

3Galapagos are well underway with their preparations for Orange Grove Public School's biennial art show, Gallery 2040. This year's theme is 'Exploring the Atlas'.

Inspired by beading and jewellery from around the world, students have been exploring patterns, colours and design as they create their own unique necklaces. 3Galapagos were also lucky enough to have the incredibly talented Mrs Long donate her time and share her beading talents. We can’t wait for you to to see the final product later this term!

K-2 had the BEST afternoon! Celebrated author & illustrator Frané Lessac joined us to share how she brings Australian stories, cultures and communities to life! Book Week is here and it’s a Symphony of Stories!

This Thursday 27 August we’re celebrating with our annual K-2 Book Character Parade & 3-6 Dress Up. It all starts at 9:15am on the Handball Courts — don’t be late for this very important date!

Perhaps you're coming dressed as The Very Hungry Caterpillar, just like our very own Leo! He started with one page... and ate his way through the whole book! Which characters will we see on the day? We can’t wait!
