⭐️ Student Spotlight ⭐️ Congratulations Olivia Burgess, Year 9 ⭐️

North Ringwood Junior Football Club is incredibly proud to congratulate Olivia ‘Liv’ Burgess on her selection to represent Australasia at the 2026 Féile Peile na nÓg in Derry, Ireland from 21st–28th June.

Liv will be part of the first-ever Australasia U15 Girls Gaelic Football team to travel to Ireland and compete in one of the world’s most prestigious youth Gaelic Games tournaments.

Featuring players from Young Melbourne (Victoria) and the Gaelic Games Academy of Western Australia, the team will take the field for a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

For many of these young athletes, wearing the Australasia jersey in Ireland represents the highest honour available in youth Gaelic Games. Féile brings together teams from across Ireland and around the world in a celebration of sport, friendship and Irish culture! 💚💛🏐🍀

Last Friday’s Big Freeze for MND Fundraiser was a huge success, and on behalf of the SRC, we would like to sincerely thank all students and staff who got involved, donated, dressed in blue, bought a sausage sizzle, and helped create such a fun and meaningful event.

Your generosity and enthusiasm helped us raise awareness and support the fight against Motor Neurone Disease, while bringing our school community together for a great cause.

🎸🏆 Battle of the Bands Grand Finale 🏆🎸

Congratulations to ROOM2 for taking out the 2026 Battle of the Bands Grand Finale last Friday! 🎉👏

ROOM2 will be joined by runners-up WunPTuJ on Thursday as they proudly represent Lilydale High School at the Inter-School Battle of the Bands at Boronia K–12. 🎶🎤

It was a real thrill to welcome Wilbur Wilde as our guest judge, whose professional experience and creative insights added so much to our judging panel. ⭐🎷

A huge thank you to all four bands for their outstanding performances. Your talent, energy and dedication made for an incredible showcase of live music. 🎸🥁🎹🎙️

🦎 Building Better Habitats 🌿🐍

The finishing touches are underway in our new Zoology Centre. From river sand to mulch and natural textures, these improvements will provide a more natural environment for our reptiles to dig, forage and thrive.

Now that our Zoology Centre is almost complete we are able to do things differently than what we did in the past. Gone are the days of cat litter and news paper. This time of year when our animals are going into brumation is the perfect time to do a complete substrate change. Piles of course river sand can be seen around the Zoology centre as we clean out the old and replace with the new. We are finding enclosures are easy to clean and keep clean with the new substrates. Depending on each region some have added red sand or some enclosures peat moss or tree mulch making each home look and feel more natural to each animal. This helps with foraging or burying themselves like they would if born in the wild.

Our VET Acting (Screen) students have been hard at work bringing their creative visions to life through their very own short films!

From writing the script and directing scenes to casting actors, filming, and editing, these talented students have taken charge of every step of the filmmaking process. 🌟

The countdown is on, with their film premiere just a few weeks away! We can't wait to see their hard work showcased on the screen.
