CANCER COUNCIL - SUNSMART

We were incredibly lucky to receive a 3m x 3m portable marquee, generously donated by The Cancer Council. A huge thank you to Ella, who presented the marquee to our school on Thursday. We are very grateful for this wonderful addition, which will be put to great use at school events and community activities.

πŸ‘’ A friendly reminder to all students and families:
School hats must be worn every day until the end of Term 4 as part of our SunSmart policy. Please ensure your child brings their hat to school each day to stay safe in the sun.

Thank you for your ongoing support! β˜€οΈπŸ’›

Book Week Parade 2026

This year, we introduced an exciting new tradition for our Book Week Parade by taking our celebrations beyond the school gates and into the heart of Lilydale!

Each secondary class was paired with a primary class, and together they walked hand in hand through town, proudly showcasing their incredible Book Week costumes to the wider community. Along the way, students stopped at a number of locations where local community members kindly shared readings from the shortlisted Children's Book Week books.

The parade concluded back at school, where Rachael Williams from the North Eastern Advertiser read a story to the entire school community.

A huge thank you to Sandy Jensen at the IGA, Jenny Story at the Pool, Sharon Hutchinson on the Village Green, Tara Howell at the Lock Shop, Greg the bus driver from Calow's Coaches and Chelsea Wadley at the Lilydale Tavern, all from the Lilydale community for taking the time to read to our students and help make the day so special.

We would also like to thank our parents and carers for the creativity, time and effort they put into helping students create their amazing costumes. Your support helped bring this year's Book Week theme to life!

It was a wonderful celebration of reading, imagination and community, and we are already looking forward to next year's parade!

🌱🌳 Planting Trees on the Farm! 🌳🌱

On last Friday, our Year 11 and 12 Agriculture students got stuck into some tree planting on the school farm!

It was a fantastic hands-on learning day, with students learning about the important role trees can play on a farm - from improving and protecting our soil to providing shelter, shade and habitat for animals.

It was great to see our students getting their hands dirty, working together and putting their learning into practice! A great day filled with learning, teamwork and plenty of muddy boots!

A big thank you to Axel and Mark from Landcare Lilydale for their support and for continuing to build such a valuable partnership with our school farm. We really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and helping our students understand the importance of sustainable land management. 🌱🀝

Well done, everyone!

🚜 Quad Bike & Side-by-Side Training! 🚜

On Tuesday, our Year 11 and 12 Agriculture students completed their quad bike and side-by-side vehicle training!

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to develop valuable practical skills and knowledge in the safe operation and handling of these vehicles. It was a great hands-on learning experience and an important part of preparing students for working safely in agricultural environments. πŸŒ±πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ
