πŸ’‘ A Reasonable and Necessary REFRESHER!
πŸ€” Not sure what the NDIS means by "reasonable and necessary"?

πŸ’° Our Can I STILL Buy It? peer workshop next month will unpack the latest NDIS rules and changes to help you better understand how you can use your funds.

βœ… A support is "reasonable and necessary" if it helps with your disability and is a fair and appropriate use of NDIS funding.

🫴 This means the support:

- πŸ’™ Is related to your eligible disability impairment

- 🎯 Helps you work towards your NDIS goals and supports your social and economic participation

- πŸ’° Is good value for money

- πŸ‘ Is likely to work

- 🏑 Helps you become more independent and participate in everyday life

- 🚫 Is not more appropriately funded by another government service

πŸ“‚ Our Can I STILL Buy It? Resource Kit has more information about what makes a support eligible for funding and includes the slides, peer session recording, auto transcription and more practical tips, checklists and resources to help you confidently manage your funds.

πŸ’» Live online session details:

πŸ“† Tuesday 1 September, 12pm – 2pm (SA Time)

πŸ’΅ Cost: $168.90 each (you can choose the best fit line item/support category for your invoice)

πŸ“© You can send the invoice to your plan manager for payment or reimbursement, or claim as a self-manager if it is in line with your plan.

πŸ”— For more info and to book, visit our Kits & Workshops tab on our website (we will also put the link in the comments).

Accessibility should be the standard not something we need to look for or wait for. More thought needs to go into consultation and planning, accessibility should not be an afterthought

The Disability Worker Code of Conduct is a legal requirement in Victoria.

It applies to all disability workers, no matter how services are funded.

Our Code of Conduct poster highlights the core principles every worker must uphold: Respect. Quality. Safety.

The poster clearly outlines what disability workers must do when providing supports or services to people with disability.

🐴🌿 More Than Just a Social Activity 🌿🐴

At Totoka Lodge, we provide NDIS Group and Social Activities in a welcoming farm environment where participants can connect with others, build friendships, and enjoy meaningful experiences alongside our horses and animals.

Our horses are at the heart of what we do. Many participants find that spending time with horses and other animals helps them feel more relaxed, comfortable, and confident while engaging in social activities and trying new experiences.

Our sessions provide opportunities to:
✨ Connect with peers in a supportive environment
✨ Participate in horse and animal care activities
✨ Enjoy outdoor and farm-based experiences
✨ Learn new skills and take on new challenges
✨ Build social connections within the community
✨ Be part of a fun, inclusive, and welcoming group

Whether participants are grooming horses, helping with farm activities, working alongside animals, or simply enjoying time outdoors, every session is designed to encourage participation, connection, and community involvement.

At Totoka Lodge, we believe some of the best conversations, friendships, and experiences happen when animals bring people together. πŸ’™
