Dear Grade 5 families,

We are looking forward to a fun day and evening with our Grade 5 cohort this Friday July 24. Some important and final reminders before our excursion. Please read carefully.

Students need to come to school in full school uniform. If they would like to change into casual clothing or footy gear at the end of the day please bring them along. We would highly recommend having a smaller bag eg. tote or mini backpack, that they can carry their drink bottle, snacks and a warm jacket to the footy and leave their school bag on the bus

Rain jacket / Warm clothing - Please ensure that your child has a rain jacket and warm clothing to put on to cope with the cold evening weather and in case it rains. Ensure clothing items are clearly labelled

Please pack additional snacks and a water bottle for your child to consume at the footy. Dinner being early will mean that students will need to have some snacks to sustain them during the football. Students will not be allowed to purchase food or drink at the MCG, so there will be no need to bring money. We highly recommend ensuring your child has additional snacks such as fruit, muesli bars, popcorn etc rather than lollies and sweet treats which could mean they could feel ill on the bus ride home.

Pick up - at this stage we are predicting we will return home to the bus loop around 12:30am. We will communicate our expected arrival time once we have left the MCG. If you are organising to take a child other than your own home, please ensure you email your child’s classroom teacher to let them know. We will not be allowed to release children into the care of other parents/carers without written consent.

After School Itinerary:

3:15pm - students remain at school
3:30-4pm - Pizza dinner provided (any concerns around dinner please contact your child’s classroom teacher ASAP)
4:15-4:30 - Depart LPS bus loop
7pm - Arrive at MCG
10:30pm - Depart MCG
12:30/1am - Arrive LPS Bus Loop for family pick up

Any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact Steph Martin ([email protected] or your child’s classroom teacher).

Kind Regards
Grade 5 Teachers
