Woorayl air services was established in 1972 for the purpose of providing an institute dedicated to training pilots from beginners through to commercial, and on to agriculture, ,along with conducting low level agricultural operations throughout Australia. The company is owned and operated by the managing director, Barry Foster, who also holds the current position of Chief Pilot, Chief Flying Instr
uctor, Chief Maintenance Engineer. Under Barry's guidance the company boasts over three decades of knowledge in flight training and aerial agriculture, including three aerial fire fighting contracts spanning ten years with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Victoria. Was also has the privilege of being the first organization to introduce the PZL M18 Dromader to Australia and was the Australasian MELEX agent for the same aircraft from 1988 to 1998. Woorayl Air Services currently Maintains a modern fleet of eleven serviceable aircraft and a number of ground rigs use for chemical, solid fertilizer and fuel loading. The agricultural division of W.A.S's fleet, comprises of 4 PZL M18 Dromader, 2 Grumman AG-CAT and a piper Dual controlled
PA 25 Pawnee, which is also used for training purposes. While the general aviation division comprises of a Cessna 150, Cessna 172 Cessna 310, and a Piper Cherokee Arrow, all of which are used both for training and chartered flights. The company currently operates with a total of ten staff members, these being one full time engineer, two full time pilots, three contract pilots, two ground crew and two staff, all of which are highly competent and fully trained. The main office is located in Leongatha Victoria, one and a half hours south-east of Melbourne and the other in Deniliquin, south-central New South Wales. Both offices are manned all year round.
