🛹 Calling local youth

Our Strategic Planners will be at the Lennox Head skate park tomorrow from 12noon to 1.30pm (with FREE pizza!) to ask young people about their hopes and concerns for the future of the local area over the next 20 years.

This feedback will be used to develop the new Lennox Head Strategic Plan 2023-2043.

The Australian Nanny Association hosted an amazing free Easter event for families and nannies in the Northern Rivers.

After some Easter art and craft in the park and the obligatory egg hunt, Portia Tresselt from Let's Celebrate Health shared her delicious, healthy recipes for chocolate, brownie, ganache, pudding and fudge. Children (and adults) learnt how to substitute gluten, egg, milk and sugar for healthier alternatives. For example, linseeds were used in place of eggs and avocado and coconut cream were used to add a creamy texture. The children’s smiles confirmed it was a hit!

The children also listened carefully to all the health benefits of cacao so they would have all the necessary arguments to eat more chocolate over Easter!

Hello hello,

The Australian Nanny Association is excited to celebrate Easter with Portia from Let's Celebrate Health. This event is for nannies and the children they care for or for families who use nanny services. The children will be creating some delicious and healthy brownies, ganaches and fudges.

The event is free of charge. Yes, you heard right, free of charge! It is limited to 10 lucky nannies/families and will be held at the Lennox Head Cultural Centre from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Thursday 14 April. Registration is required.

A massive thank you to the Australian Nanny Association for their generous sponsorship of the event.

Next Event: Parliamentary Triangle, Canberra (2 – 18 April). Tuffy's Nest is Australia’s largest inflatable play park, measuring 1,200 square metres of endless fun in the form of our leap of faith, climbing walls and slides.

I'm really excited to be hosting a kid's consultation on the future of playgrounds in Ballina Shire with local family coach Hélène Gatland as part of my Lennox Head listening post on 26th February at 9am at the Shelter Shed, opposite Quattro in Lennox Head. Helene will be using a range of child-friendly consultation techniques to get input from kids into Council's draft Playground Management and Upgrade Plan. Parents with kids of all ages are invited to attend.
