If you are wandering past and thinking hmmm blue school looks a little pinker than normal⦠thanks for noticing!
Our children have had a busy 2 days creating decorations, representing what they love about their preschool and sharing what they value the most about their preschool educators.
We were overwhelmed with their answers and wanted to share them.
Tomorrow our team have made the tough decision to take action alongside our Northern Rivers community preschool peers in solidarity.
You may have heard recently in the media the state government looks to make drastic changes to how preschools are structured. Longer hours, extended age groups making it more like long daycare. Losing exactly what sets us apart and allows us to provide for each of our children and be available to our families.
Preschool educators and teachers who hold the same qualifications as those in long daycare or primary schools currently receive up to 30% less pay. We choose to be apart of something wonderful because we are dedicated, community driven and passionate about what we do. Being not for profit, all of our funding goes back into providing for our children and families. We are managed by a committee of volunteer parents and community members whose priority is their children, some of who have dedicated many years to the operation of our service. Seeing the value in community run preschools.
Our preschool was founded over 40 years ago by a couple of families in our small town who saw a need and did everything they could to make it happen. We are built on the foundations of what this town is known for and capable of.
As most of you know, most of our team have been with us for many, many years and have had the pleasure of sharing the early years journey for decades with our local families.
Tomorrow we take action for them.
For our community.
For our families.
But for our childrenās future.
Being a small sector, we need your help.
We are asking our community to support us in having our voices heard by the Chris Minns
government.
Community preschools are the heart and soul of our small communities in particular and we feel so grateful to be able to build lifelong foundations for our childrenās future.
Please show your support by
