- We shall commence offers throughout August

Community preschools are at risk and we need your help.

If you know what our beautiful community run, not for profit, preschool brings to our community and families locally and have a spare 5 minutes please click on the link and send your support to our NSW Ministers who appear to have very limited knowledge of just how important community preschools are to our communities and children’s lives.

Have 1 minute? Make a difference. Use our tool to email your MP and support fair pay for community preschools in NSW.

thank you to our families for your support and understanding this morning allowing our team to attend the day of action alongside other Northern Rivers preschools.

The supprtive turn out was enough but to see people along the street cheering in support of what community preschools do was truly humbling.

There are so many families from our communities who have experinced the love, education and care from community preschools who will stand with us in this fight ā¤ļø

And to our dedicated team… we are so grateful for your hardwork to go over and beyond, sharing the passion.

Well done Northern Rivers 🩷

For a small sector of community preschools we turned up today and made ourselves heard.

The point raised by each of the speakers were so relevant to us all.

Community preschools put children first.
The preschool model is the pinnacle because it works the way it is.
Our educators and teachers provide quality education and care because we are able develop strong, trusting relationships with our children and families.

I am sure I speak for most of our preschools when I invite NSW Government members, Chris Minns, Prue Car MP to come and visit in particular our country and rural preschools. Understand what sets us apart and why. Listen to the stories we have to share and see first hand the passion of all of our teachers and educators.

These preschools are the heart and soul of many communities. They deserve to be heard and they deserve to be funded fairly.

If you are wandering past and thinking hmmm blue school looks a little pinker than normal… thanks for noticing!

Our children have had a busy 2 days creating decorations, representing what they love about their preschool and sharing what they value the most about their preschool educators.

We were overwhelmed with their answers and wanted to share them.

Tomorrow our team have made the tough decision to take action alongside our Northern Rivers community preschool peers in solidarity.

You may have heard recently in the media the state government looks to make drastic changes to how preschools are structured. Longer hours, extended age groups making it more like long daycare. Losing exactly what sets us apart and allows us to provide for each of our children and be available to our families.

Preschool educators and teachers who hold the same qualifications as those in long daycare or primary schools currently receive up to 30% less pay. We choose to be apart of something wonderful because we are dedicated, community driven and passionate about what we do. Being not for profit, all of our funding goes back into providing for our children and families. We are managed by a committee of volunteer parents and community members whose priority is their children, some of who have dedicated many years to the operation of our service. Seeing the value in community run preschools.

Our preschool was founded over 40 years ago by a couple of families in our small town who saw a need and did everything they could to make it happen. We are built on the foundations of what this town is known for and capable of.

As most of you know, most of our team have been with us for many, many years and have had the pleasure of sharing the early years journey for decades with our local families.

Tomorrow we take action for them.
For our community.
For our families.
But for our children’s future.

Being a small sector, we need your help.
We are asking our community to support us in having our voices heard by the Chris Minns
government.

Community preschools are the heart and soul of our small communities in particular and we feel so grateful to be able to build lifelong foundations for our children’s future.

Please show your support by

- joining tomorrow in Lismore to march from 8.45am at Spinks park

- sharing these posts and spreading awareness

- contact our local state member Tamara Smith

We are still on an absolute high after Friday nights return of the Preschool Trivia night!

The atmosphere was exactly how we imagined it. Fun filled, smiling faces, laughter and everyone having a great night.

For us, these are the community events we treasure the most, the ones that bring us together. We are so grateful to be a part of this incredible community.

A huge thank you to all of our local businesses and sponsors! Your generosity, kindness and support has blown us away.

To our management committee who dedicated their time and effort to make the night such a success, thank you so much! Like many other local organisations we rely on these dedicated volunteers for our preschool operate.

Thank you to our MC Aaron who did an outstanding job! Our DJ Cam who kept the dance floor going long after the trivia had ended.

And to our team.. how lucky we are to have such a dedicated team, so passionate about our children, families and community.

Not only was our night a community success but we were able to raise $12000 towards our building improvements so thank you everyone who contributed towards this.

We have been asked if we can make this an annual event… we will see but for now… we cant wipe the smile off our faces ā¤ļø

If anyone has any photos they would like to share please do!
