Fancy making a frivolous and fun frog? Well hop over and learn to build your frog in clay.

Learn basic clay hand building techniques to create your frog and give it a really unique personality and features.

Students take home a twice fired clay sculpture for you to proudly display. The artworks made in this class will be fired in our kiln so kids will not take their artwork home on the day.

The work needs to dry out before bisque firing, we then glaze the work and fire again in our kiln.

We will send you an email notifying you when to collect your artwork so keep an eye on your inbox.
Please allow about 3 weeks until they are ready to collect.

In this class sudents will embark on a creative journey to capture one of nature's most fascinating and unique creatures—the platypus.
With its blend of mammalian and reptilian features, the platypus offers an exciting challenge for artists to explore texture, form, and color.
Whether you're drawn to the platypus's sleek, waterproof fur, its distinctive duck-bill, or its playful nature, this class will guide you through the process of translating this extraordinary animal onto canvas.
We’ll focus on techniques for creating life-like detail, while also embracing the whimsical aspect of this odd yet endearing creature.
Let’s dive in and bring the platypus to life in your own artistic style! There are places available.

Join wildlife artist Shannon Dwyer in an engaging drawing session where your child will learn to sketch one of Australia’s most beloved creatures, the Bilby!
This interactive class is tailored for young art enthusiasts who have a love for nature and wildlife.
It’s designed to enhance their drawing skills and boost their confidence in art. Shannon will share fantastic techniques for breaking down the Bilby's features in a lively and interactive environment.
In this hands-on workshop, your child will explore the fundamentals of animal drawing using various techniques to improve their abilities.
Shannon will provide step-by-step guidance on capturing the unique 'personality' of the Bilby – although, creativity is encouraged, allowing students to add their personal touch to their drawings!

Time to make a Kooky Kookaburra!
Have fun learning basic clay hand-building techniques to create your body, add its head, and learn how to give your animal characteristics to make it very unique!
Add some texture and then paint with coloured underglazes. Have fun. Be quirky!
The artworks made in this class will be fired in our kiln so kids will not take their artwork home on the day. All art materials and tuition in the workshop fee
fWe have 3-hour workshops with morning or afternoon sessions for kids aged 5 and over (9.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4.30pm)
Choose a one and two-day master classes for teens to develop skills and explore new mediums or techniques (10am-4pm)
Lunchtime supervision for kids staying the whole day at no extra charge
Note: Our goal is to run all the advertised workshops. However, we sometimes need change a workshop theme, age range or tutor due to insufficient enrolments or other circumstances, and occasionally cancel a workshop altogether. In such circumstances, any student enrolled in a cancelled class will be transferred to another suitable class in the same time and parents will be notified

This painting is a mixed media work on paper, 54x76 of an iceberg from Ash Frost’s 2017 residency to Antarctica aboard the MS Fram.

Join Ashley in this exciting masterclass workshop —it is designed to be an individual workshop or one of three workshops, with a connected multidisciplinary approach to expanding one’s creative vocabulary.

You can choose to book the workshops as individual masterclasses or as a carefully combined group of three workshops.

Students will gain skills in understanding composition, tonal design and colour harmony through research drawing practice.

This practical approach to research drawing and colour studies will enable students to discover gestural elements and colour nuances in landscape painting.

Join Kara for this fun hand-building classwhere you will sculpt and decorate a quirky, creative and colourful bird.

No experience necessary — you’ll be shown various clay sculpting methods including coiling and slab techniques to construct your bird.

Use textured rollers to give your bird different patterns on their feathers and paint with underglazes, to bring colour to their bird.

If you like you may bring pictures of birds that interest you for inspiration.

Join the incredible artist and ceramicist Niharika Hukku to learn to paint onto bisque-fired surfaces where your bisque-ware is your canvas.

Niharika is known for her exquisite illustrative designs painted onto ceramics.

From flowers and fish, to birds and botanicals - her work gives a new reality to hand-built and decorated ceramics.

Niharika will guide you through her unique process to beautifully paint a ramen-style ceramic bowl.

Niharika will facilitate your ideation and encourage you to work with your own ideas and drawings.

Inspiration can come from nature or can be graphic and/or geometric.

You’ll work on a pre-made bowl, so this session does not include any making of ceramics.

Create a stunning botannical sculpture in this 2 part workshop with artist and ceramicist Lisa Hölzl.

Part 1:
6 hours
10am — 4pm Saturday 4 January 2025

During Part 1 of this workshop you will learn techniques for making proteas, banksias or other flowers and botannical elements that interest to you.

You will make a single, self-supporting table sculpture to be bisque fired ready for colour and glaze two weeks later during Part 2 of the workshop.

With her incredible experience Lisa will help you realise your ideas. There is a scheduled half hour for lunch around 1pm.

Part 2:
2.5 hours
6.30pm — 9pm Friday 17 January 2025

In this second workshop, Lisa will guide you through under-glazing and over-glazing techniques and colour ideas to suit your own particular sculpture, ready for the final glaze firing.
