Exactly 1 month left to get your applications in for the Buster Ryan Memorial TAFE Scholarship 2026. There are $5000 in scholarships available to eligible TAFE NSW students this year, so have a read below and follow the link to apply.

- What This Scholarship Means To Leeton -

On the 13th of October 2020, Leeton Shire local Buster Ryan passed away in a workplace accident while working for the Killoran Ag company.

Buster has been described as a man of integrity, who loved his family and friends and was always willing to pitch in to help the Shire he loved.

Buster was a former Citizen of the Year, known for his long-running involvement with the Yanco Lions Club, he was heavily involved with hay runs and a supporter and member of many other community groups and charities.

In honour of the contribution Buster made to the Leeton community, and to support the promotion of safe work practices among young workers and new entrants to vocational careers, the Killoran Ag company has partnered with the Rotary Club of Leeton to put in place the Buster Ryan Memorial TAFE Scholarship.

- What To Do -

Two deserving students will be chosen based on their responses to the formal scholarship application questions - if you would like to apply, please click the link to read the full details and conditions of the scholarships, and to download the application: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/8229/Page/buster-ryan-memorial-tafe-scholarship. The prize is $2500 for each winner to spend on anything relating to their chosen vocational pathway.

The deadline for submitting an application for the 2026 Buster Ryan Scholarship is 11.59pm on Sunday 6th of September. It may seem far away, but it will creep up on you. This application needs a 200 word endorsement by your employer, therefore you need to allow time for them to do their part.

Feel free to drop in to your local TAFE campus in Leeton, Griffith, or Narrandera to pick up a printed copy. We can also help you scan your completed application in if you need.

Students who are currently enrolled in a Certificate III course or above at TAFE NSW, and who have at least one of the following connections to Leeton: live here, work here, or study at TAFE here; are eligible to apply.
