Leeming Senior High School offers specialist programs (Science and Technology and Japanese), as well as extension and enrichment opportunities to students with outstanding academic ambitions. To meet the educational needs of our students, we continuously upgrade our facilities to ensure we meet the evolving educational requirements of our students. Guided by our motto of Harmony and Excellence, we cultivate a culture where every member of our community strives to rise to their potential while showing care and support for one another. We see ourselves as partners with students and their families, working together to create a nurturing and supportive environment during their high school journey. At Leeming Senior High School, we celebrate the diverse talents and interests of our student body, encouraging students to shape their educational pathway. Our staff are dedicated professionals, many of whom are active in professional organisations, contribute to development workshops, and hold leadership positions across educational networks. In 2024, our collective efforts were recognised when we were named finalists in the Department of Education's Excellence in Leadership awards - a reflection of the strength of our collaborative approach with staff, students, and families, as well as our School Board and P&C Association. With a dedicated Student Services Team, our students are empowered to reach their full potential. A passionate team of Year Coordinators, Learning Support Coordinators, a School Nurse, a School Psychologist, two School Chaplains, and House Group Teachers work collaboratively to ensure students' wellbeing and success. Student voice is central to our school, with an active Student Council and House Captains elected annually by their peers. Together with the school leadership, our student voice works to foster student wellbeing and empowerment, as well as support worthy social causes. We are committed to helping our students to grow confident and prepared to be exemplary citizens.

Monday night was a big one for our Junior Music students 🎶

From the Year 9 STEAM Showcase to our biggest Junior Music Recital yet, it was a chance for students to share what they’ve been creating, practising, and working towards all term.

With 85 students performing, including world premieres of original Year 8 and 9 compositions, plus student-built instruments on display, there was plenty to celebrate.

What truly made the night special was the way students owned their moment, backed by the support of friends, family and the Leeming community.

When classroom learning starts opening doors to future careers, students know they’re on the right track 👏

Our Cert II Engineering students recently met with Geoff Parsons from Skill Hire to learn more about boilermaker and welding apprenticeship opportunities with Civmec and where their skills could take them next.

The best part? Geoff left impressed describing the students work, professionalism, and attitude as outstanding.

It’s a great reflection of the effort students are putting into their learning and a reminder that the skills they’re building today could lead to exciting opportunities tomorrow.

Missing French Club? 🇫🇷

While the club is still on a break this term, Madame Spears and Mademoiselle Yushan are bringing it back for one special session on Wednesday, 24 June.

Expect French Twister, a special goûter, and plenty of fun as we make up for some lost time.

If you’d like to attend, please pop by the Languages Office before Week 10 to let Madame Spears know.

We have a feeling our French students won't want to miss this one!

Some lessons are best learned outside the classroom 🌿🔍

Our Year 7 Science and Technology Academy students recently explored Herdsman Lake, getting a closer look at ecosystems and food webs in action.

By observing the connections between organisms in a real wetland environment, students were able to bring their classroom learning to life and build a deeper understanding of the world around them.

It’s experiences like these that help students develop the curiosity and scientific thinking they’ll use well into the future.

Music, creativity and plenty of student talent all in one evening 🎶

Join us this Monday night for the Junior Music Recital, where our students will take to the stage from 6pm in the Performing Arts Centre.

Before the performances begin, make sure to check out the Year 9 Music STEAM projects on display from 5pm and see the instruments students have been designing and building this term 🎸
