A big thank you to Georgie Wynne for helping us wrap up the 2026 WAPPA Aspirant Series – Shaping Your Leadership Journey!

Joining facilitator Jade Aim for our final session, Reading Between the Lines, Georgie shared her insights to help aspiring leaders look beyond the words in strategic plans, understand the direction behind them and think like a school leader.

You spend your days supporting others. But who is supporting you?

School leaders navigate complex student needs, staff wellbeing concerns, family challenges and growing community expectations every day. Over time, that emotional load can take a toll on your wellbeing, decision making and capacity to lead.

Following his WAPPA Conference keynotes, Dr Adam Fraser returns to Perth for Moving Beyond the Silent Cost, an exclusive full day workshop focused on protecting yourself and your team from secondary trauma.

Drawing on his research into Secondary Traumatic Stress in education, Adam will help you:

• Recognise the signs of secondary traumatic stress in yourself
• Understand the “Stress Tunnel” and how to move beyond reactive patterns
• Develop practical strategies to manage stress, prevent burnout and strengthen resilience
• Create a personal action plan to support your wellbeing while leading others

WAPPA has heavily subsidised this workshop, bringing the member price to $275 for a day that would normally cost twice that amount.

Reading Between the Lines: Decoding Strategic Plans and Thinking Like a School Leader will help aspiring leaders look beyond the words on the page, better understand strategic direction and strengthen the way they think about leadership within a school context.

And just like that, is a wrap!

More than 500 delegates, over 260 schools represented, 50 exhibitors and three incredible days of learning, connection and celebration.

The 2026 Fotoworks WAPPA Conference at Crown Perth has been one of the most successful conferences to date and the WAPPA Business Centre is absolutely beaming.

To everyone who joined us, supported us and played a part in bringing The Lens We Choose to life – thank you.

We hope you enjoyed these three days as much as we did and left feeling inspired, connected and proud to be part of the WAPPA community.

There is plenty more to come as we share the photos, highlights and moments from an incredible few days.
