Hi all. Sad to hear Neil’s news that he is closing the retail part of his business. If you get a chance, call in to his premises in Maclean and grab yourself a bargain!
The good news is… he’ll still be around for your quilting needs and hopefully be with us again as a stall holder at the Lawrence Quilt Exhibition in 2027.

Hello there!

In the midst of term break at present, so I thought I should share some pictures from projects finished last term. Most of these were in our recent Quilt exhibition, so its nice to put a makers face to the beautiful quilts!

I have yet to get to my sewing room....family things taking priority first, but come next week I should be able to get in there, dust of the cobwebs and start on a project or two.

I hope the day treats you well and that you find some time to stich.

Hi there!

Yesterday we had a “sorting morning” where, after the Bluff Point Quilters Exhibition, we work out how many quilts are available to distribute to various organisations.

A huge thanks to Mum, Chris Bale, sister Mandy, Karen Jackson, Julie Wicken and the fabulous crew from my "Sew for Charity Days" as this year we had a total of 144 quilts to be donated from the event!

40 to Sydney Children Hospitals
20 to Mental Health Unit at Lismore
26 to Lismore (Quilts for Kids)
10 to Yamba Veterans Group
20 to Pete’s Place in Coffs Harbour
26 to Maclean Food Bank
2 to other recipients

We are very fortunate to receive lots of donations of fabric that go towards these and other quilts that are made and donated throughout the year.

My “Sew for Charity” days are held on the first Wednesday of the month. It’s fantastic that I have such a dedicated crew of piecers and quilters who join with me to create these quilts that are stitched with love and given to those in need. The next one will be on Wednesday the 7th of October 2025 from 10am until 3pm. If you have time and would like to be involved, just get in touch as I’d love to have you come join us.

If you have the time, find your charity of choice and help where you can to make the lives of those in need just that little bit easier.

Hi there!

The Lawrence Bluff Point Quilters hosted another fabulous Quilt Exhibition at the Lawrence Museum last Saturday. This year we had a massive 165 quilts on display, all shapes and sizes, from simple to complex. Thank you to all those who did the stitching to make the display such a success. The Museum was in picture perfect condition and such a terrific location for the event.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers that helped make the before, during and after run so smoothly. Thank you to all that donated the fabulous cakes, slices and other goodies that were consumed on the day. It is a massive effort to get it all to come together, and we cannot run the exhibition without many helping hands and luckily the Lawrence community always comes to our aid.

Another huge thank you to our traders on the day:
BARBIE MITCHELL from Hand Stitched Owl
PICTON PATCHWORK & QUILTING
NEW HORIZON QUILTING
BYNDEES
TOP CUT BLADES
and RUSTY HEART DESIGNS

And the winners were:

VIEWERS CHOICE AWARD: Daphne Giese – see photo (beautiful floral quilt) - (prize donated by Sals Sewing)

RAFFLE PRIZES (and all winners have been notified):
Quilt made by the group: Danni
Wadding Pack (donated by New Horizon Quilting): Wendy Squires
Knives (donated by Top Cut Blades): M. Jackson
Quilt Kit & Notions (donated by Barbie Mitchell): Georgina
Cake Plate (donated by Neville Taber): Julie Wicken
Slow Stitching Pack (donated by Rusty Heart Designs): Christine Garven
Quilt Kit (donated by Picton Patchwork & Quilting): Danni
Fabric Pack (donated by Byndees): Marg Kent

The Bluff Point Quilters donated all proceeds from the raffle and “Trash and Treasure Stall” to the Lawrence Museum. With admission fees included, the Museum raised over $4,500.00 on the day. A great reward for the massive effort from all involved.

And THANKYOU for coming along on the day to raise funds for the most unique Museum in the Clarence, and I hope to see you all again at our Exhibition in 2027.

The Trash and Treasure Stall is again.....HUGE.....with a wide variety of goodies ready to go to new homes.

Just a few things to remember:

3. If you are coming via the ferry, please allow extra travel time as only the small ferry is in operation
