β Charting Our Own Course at Pines Toastmasters β
At our latest meeting, we certainly charted our own course!
Our key contributor for the evening, Michaela, took us on a voyage filled with trajectories, course adjustments, and navigating our individual Toastmasters journeys. Our very own captain for the evening did a fantastic job bringing the nautical theme to life, entertaining not only our members but also our guests.
There's something special about a meeting where everyone embraces the themeβit makes for an evening that's engaging, memorable, and a whole lot of fun!
A big thank you also goes to the members who represented Pines Toastmasters at the recent University of the Sunshine Coast Market Day. We're thrilled to say that one of the students we met there came along as a guest to this meeting. We hope to see them back again soon!
πΆπ± We also finally settled one of life's biggest debates... at least for one evening! After a spirited discussion, the room voted that dogs came out on top over cats. Think the room got it wrong? You'll have to come along to our next debate and see if you can change everyone's mind!

Our next meeting is THIS Thursday!

π― Commitment: The Promise We Make
At our latest Pines Toastmasters meeting, we explored the theme of Commitmentβa fitting topic as we begin another year full of opportunities and personal growth.
Commitment is more than simply turning up. It's the promise we make to ourselves to keep learning, keep challenging ourselves, and keep supporting one another on our journey to becoming better communicators and leaders.
One of the highlights of the evening was welcoming four first-time guests! It was fantastic to see so many new faces, and we're delighted that all four expressed an interest in coming back. We can't wait to welcome them again and continue sharing everything Toastmasters has to offer.
Every member was a guest once, and seeing our club continue to grow reminds us just how welcoming and supportive the Toastmasters community is.
β¨ If you've ever thought about improving your confidence, communication, or leadership skills, why not come along and see what we're all about?

At Pines Toastmasters Club we help our annual changeover of Executive at our last meeting
One of our traditions is to give out two awards
One for Toastmaster of the Year - for the person who has gone above and beyond all year to make our club greater
The other for Most Improved Toastmaster - awarded to the person the members feel has improved the most over the past 12 months.
Quite honestly our two recipients could have taken home either award. They have been in Toastmasters for less than 2 years, have stepped out of their comfort zones and jumped right in to wanting help make our club the best club it can be
Most Improved Toastmaster went to Michaela - she stepped into the leadership role of VPE and then also took on the role of interim President when our President had to step away - we are all very inspired to see Michaelaβs confidence grow as she stepped into these roles
Toastmaster of the Year went to Bryden - he stepped into a leadership role of VPPR and revitalised our social media presence and has been sharing many ideas to help make our club greater. He has also been supporting Michaela in her roles as well. Bryden we love seeing you flourish.
Come along to Pines Toastmasters and meet Michaela and Bryden. Our next meeting is 16 July at 6.30pm for 6.45pm start at UniSC Moreton Bay campus, 1 Moreton Pde Petrie. For more information call Lucy on 0419684856

There's nothing more exciting than welcoming new members who have decided to invest in themselves, and we're thrilled to have **Andrea** and **Sindhu** join our club!
Every Toastmasters journey starts with a single step. Whether your goal is to become a more confident speaker, develop your leadership skills, or simply challenge yourself in a supportive environment, you've already taken the hardest step by getting started.
We can't wait to see both of you grow, take on new challenges, and discover just how much you're capable of. Welcome to the Pines Toastmasters family!

β¨ Meeting Recap β Aim for the Sky
At our last Pines Toastmasters meeting we launched the first of our new Knowledge Nuggets β short, practical insights designed to help our members grow both inside and outside of Toastmasters.
One of our returning members shared a powerful reminder:
βWherever you go in the world, it starts here.β
The skills and experiences you gain through Toastmasters donβt just stay in the meeting room β they help you wherever life takes you.
We also challenged some of our more experienced members with some tricky Table Topics. These quick-fire speaking challenges required excellent improv skills, quick thinking, and confidence under pressure. They were fun, rewarding, and a great reminder that no matter how much you learn, thereβs always a new challenge waiting.

π Knowledge in action
At our last meeting we launched our new Knowledge Nuggets series β short insights designed to help our members grow.
And sometimes those lessons show up in the real world sooner than expected.
One of our members recently shared this fantastic achievement, showing exactly how the confidence and skills developed through Toastmasters can carry into other areas of life.

Itβs a great reminder that the small things we learn and practise at Toastmasters can lead to big moments beyond the meeting room.
