School Holiday Opportunity - City Of Launceston Council
Oct 12th 1-3pm Tool Skool workshop: Join Asher for this fun hands-on woodworking session. Participants create their own wooden creation.
Oct 13th 1-2.30pm Crafternoon: Join for a relaxing afternoon of junk journalling, scrapbooking, card making, beading and creative crafts.

Location: The V, 8a Blaydon Street Kings Meadows

ReThink Waste School Program Kicks Off at Summerdale!
Last week, our Year 3/4 students had the exciting opportunity to welcome Robyn, a ReThink Waste School Program educator, to the first of our Year 3/4 classes. Students enthusiastically participated in learning about the waste management hierarchy, and the positive impact that responsible environmental choices can have on our community.
This visit marks the beginning of an important school initiative aimed at improving how we manage and dispose of waste. By building students' knowledge and awareness, we are taking meaningful steps towards reducing our environmental footprint and creating a more sustainable future for our school.
We are pleased that the remaining Year 3/4 classes will also take part in the program during Term 4, allowing our students to develop their understanding of environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.
A Year 3/4 student leadership team comprising Ivy, Simay, Elsie, Mia, Teleah, Raghav and Bahareh will play a key role in the next stage of the project by helping to develop and implement a school-wide waste management plan. Their work will support positive waste disposal practices across the school and help ensure that our environmental efforts have a lasting impact.
We look forward to seeing the impact of this fantastic initiative as our students work together to help make Summerdale a more sustainable and environmentally responsible school community.
