FAMILY SATISFACTION SURVEY

Dear families,
The Department's Satisfaction Surveys are administered by Data, Systems and Insights (DSI). DSI recently identified an issue with the survey platform that affected some responses to the Family Satisfaction Survey for Support Schools. Responses submitted before 12 pm on 14 September were recorded but could not be linked to the relevant school. This issue has now been fixed.

If you completed the survey before this time, we kindly ask you to consider completing it again. The DSI survey team sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate you taking the additional time to resubmit your response if you choose.

If you have not yet completed the survey, you are also welcome to submit your feedback using the survey link below. To allow all families more time to participate, the survey will remain open until Friday, 2 October 2026.

It's footy colours day at Northern Support School on Friday (September 25), and students are invited to wear the colours of their favourite team.

Don't like football? Wear the colours of your favourite sports team! Don't like sports? Wear your favourite colours! Prefer your school uniform? That's cool, too - it's a great uniform!😉

Recently there have been some near misses between vehicles when entering and/or exiting the school grounds at NSS.

What has been implemented:
- information shared with school community asking that arrow markings are followed, including exiting the school via the roundabout.
- the bus contractors have been notified, making them aware that there will be increased vehicle movement around the roundabout where the buses load and unload.

What will be done in the coming weeks/holidays:
- line markings painted indicating where the buses park on the roundabout.
- re-painting of the existing road markings will be undertaken.
- new ‘Keep Left’/’Left Turn Only’ signage will be installed.

ALL DRIVERS are requested to follow the arrows and current signage that exists in the driveway and carparks.

This means – irrespective of the time of day:
- NOT entering through the exit lane of the car park
- NOT exiting through the entry lane of the car park
- Keeping left on (& going round) both roundabouts
- Ensuring your speed limit does not exceed 10kph at any time when within the school grounds
- ONLY parking in designated parking areas

We anticipate these changes will take some time, however, we can all support the process by being mindful and conscientious in exhibiting/modelling the driving behaviours that we would like all drivers entering NSS to demonstrate.

It's Teacher Assistant Appreciation Week and we couldn't be more thankful for the incredible work our TAs do in bringing learning and laughter into the lives of our wonderful young people every day.

We have to agree with the students of Junior 3 who, when asked to describe their TAs, said they were awesome, funny, special, gentle, beautiful people! Thank you to all of the TAs at Northern Support School for all that you do. We appreciate you!

School arrangements for Wednesday, March 25, 2026

Due to planned industrial action by the Australian Education Union, it is now confirmed that our school will be closed to students on Wednesday, March 25.

The school will reopen as normal on Thursday, March 26.

Thank you for your understanding.

Due to industrial action, Tasmanian Government Schools will be temporarily closed during this week as below:

• North-West region – Tuesday 24 March
• Northern region – Wednesday 25 March
• Southern region – Thursday 26 March

Schools will be communicating directly to families about these closures, and any local arrangements.
