A vibrant and stylistically diverse programme featuring works by Handel, Ginastera, Mozart, and Chopin formed the foundation of Sidharth Kurup’s Associate Diploma in Pianoforte Performance, presented recently in Melbourne. Demonstrating exceptional professionalism, assured technical command, and refined musical sensitivity, Sidharth impressed the examiner and was awarded an Honours result - A.Dip.SCSM(Hons). The second movement of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor was a highlight of Jeremiah Lambert’s Concert Certificate Eight presentation at held at Oxley College in Melbourne recently.

His Higher Distinction result reflected both impressive technical skill and a level of musical maturity that resonated with the examiner and audience alike. Congratulations, Jeremiah!

Oxley College violinist, Tirion Roberts, presented a focussed and entertaining Concert Certificate Eight performance during the March examinations in Melbourne. St. Cecilia Concert examinations may be presented in front of a live audience.

Melbourne Grade One violinist, Connor Shao received a Higher Distinction in the recent SCSM examinations at Oxley College. Also pictured is Grade Four violinist, Lulu, whose Distinction result reflected a well-rehearsed and controlled performance.

Melbourne violist, Janim Cai, was awarded 100% for his Grade Three SCSM examination held at Oxley College in March this year. The examiner commented on Janim's immaculate tone, intonation and musicianship.

A class of seven outstanding musicians recently completed the SCSM “fast-track” Certificate of Music Teaching course in Launceston this year. The C.Mus.T qualification enables musicians to teach at St. Cecilia’s elementary levels and provides a solid introduction to the teaching profession.

Congratulations to Joel Hawkins on completing the course and being awarded the CMT qualification. Joel also holds the A.Dip.SCSM in Piano Performance.

SCSM Examinations Intl. is proud to partner with Barratt’s Music (Tasmania) to award prizes to the top SCSM music exam performers in Tasmania for the 2025 examination series.

A total of 546 musicians sat exams in Tasmania last year. Pictured with Managing Director Mark Barratt are: Clarice Kirschbaum (96% Gr. 6 Piano); Jason Xiang Gui Wu (100% Gr. 3 Violin & 98% Gr. 2 Piano); and Zachary Goh Tse Wee (100% Gr. 7 Piano).

Sydney pianist Oliver Nguyen recently earned Honours in the Associate Diploma of the St. Cecilia School of Music (A.Dip.SCSM), performing a beautifully balanced, fully memorised program of Schubert, Liszt, Debussy, and Gershwin.
