Launceston's music community was recently enriched by an inspiring four-day visit from distinguished performer, teacher and mentor, Mark Hooper, as a special guest of St. Cecilia Examinations Intl.

Through a stimulating programme of meetings, masterclasses and individual lessons, Mark generously shared the wealth of experience he has gained throughout his distinguished career as both a performer and educator.

His thoughtful, wide-ranging and at times challenging perspectives encouraged lively discussion and fresh thinking, earning the respect and admiration of the Tasmanian teachers and students who attended.

Mark currently teaches a select group of diploma-level students in Brisbane and is highly sought after throughout Australia as an adjudicator, teacher and mentor.

A happy Raymond Yang was awarded a High Distinction for his Preliminary Grade piano examinations in Launceston during the September examination series. He's now keen to progress to the Grade 1 level with his Launceston-based teacher, Catherine Connell at Miss B's Student Services. Well done again, Raymond!

Launceston vocalist, Leah Norton, scored a perfect 100% for her Concert Certificate One, Singing examination in the recent September series of examinations in Launceston (Tas). The examiner commented on Leah's stage presentation and ability to fully engage the audience. Pictured with Leah is her teacher, Catherine Connell of Miss B's Student Services.
