Congratulations Mrs Rheinberger!!
Walking the walk is as important as talking the talk for Wendy Rheinberger. Wendy has been in Catholic education for the past 28 years and during this time, both her Catholic faith and showing kindness to others have been integral to her journey.
Wendy’s work in Catholic education has spanned roles in New South Wales, the UK and the Phillipines, before she moved to St Finn Barr's Catholic Primary School where she holds the position today as Religious Education Instructional Leader of the school.
“I would like to think that if my students and colleagues for no other reason remember me, they remember that I show kindness and am someone that can be dependent upon in their faith journey.”
Wendy has found being adaptable and flexible in the daily schedule of a school environment to be two of the most important traits required for a successful education career. The other key is providing a safe place for students to flourish in her care and education.
“We are their safe space and it is about building relationships with those whom we are connecting with – then hopefully the rest will follow.”
During her time with Catholic Education Tasmania, Wendy has held a number of key roles including Literacy Support Specialist, Music Specialist, Classroom Teacher, Instructional Leader of Education and Religious Education Coordinator.
Contributing to the social sphere has also been a career-long passion for Wendy, through various fundraising, community, parish and committee initiatives.
“These personal highlights have reinforced my belief in the importance of creating opportunities that inspire, include and empower young people to be the best they can be.”

Our Year 6 students proudly joined fellow students and community members from across the Launceston region to celebrate Catholic Education Week at Mass.
The Mass was concelebrated by His Grace, Archbishop Tony, who encouraged the students to reflect on important questions: What are we being asked to do with our lives? What is our purpose? His words invited us to consider how our faith, gifts and choices can make a difference in the world.
The students enjoyed a wonderful BBQ lunch and time outdoors at St Thomas More’s School before returning to St Finn Barr’s after lunch.
A beautiful opportunity to celebrate our Catholic community, strengthen connections and reflect on how we are called to live out our faith.

Catholic Education Week 2026 - Tasmania
Catholic Education Week is a special time to celebrate the gift of Catholic schooling in Tasmania.
Inspired by the words of St Clare, "Let the love you have in your hearts be shown outwardly in your deeds," we are reminded that our faith is lived through the way we care, serve, and support one another each day.
At St Finn Barr's, our motto, "Thy Kingdom Come," calls us to build a community that is safe, respectful and resilient, where every student is known, valued and encouraged to grow in faith and learning.
We give thanks for all that Catholic schools provide for our families, students and staff, and we celebrate the shared mission that brings our communities to life.

Look what arrived yesterday!! The Year 6 students are very much looking forward to wearing their new shirts. If they had it their way they would wear the same shirt every single day of the week. At this stage they will be wearing them on Fridays only.
