1978 Brooks High School Leavers

Maree (John Nichols wife) has invited anyone who wishes to attend that his ashes will be scattered at Iluka Coles Bay, at the boat ramp (just past the tavern) this Saturday 3rd May at 11am. Then back to St Helens RSL.

Sad news...
John Nichols' wife has reached out asking to let all his school friends know that he passed away on Tuesday at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
There will be an invite for a memorial service at Coles Bay sometime in May which the date will be passed on later for those who wish to attend.
I'm sure Maree won't mind me posting part of her message below so everyone knows what happened 😔

Hey lovely members of 1978 Brooks High School Leavers I have just deleted some unpleasant comments using our name on an ABC Sport site.
Not sure how this happened and thinking we have been hacked as it is not our intent to be anything other than a platform for past members to post.
We do not comment on anything other than this page's content.
So apologies if the comments using our name offended anyone, they have been deleted and where I could not delete them I have removed our name tag.
I will keep an eye on this in the future.

This will be the last post and reunion for the 1978 Brooks High School Leavers till we celebrate our 50th year since walking out those gates for the last time.
Due to the large amount of people who said they were coming and then did not adjust that on the event or let any of us know, we have incurred personal financial loss.
We have put these reunions on for the people but now it’s not viable financially to us and add some really unpleasant attitudes we will leave it now till 2028.
