The Launceston Big Picture School is a Tasmanian Government School that is designed on the distinguishing features of Big Picture Education. It is managed by the Department of Education in collaboration with Big Picture Australia. Big Picture philosophy is grounded in educating 'one student at a time'. It promotes and creates personalized education programs that are unique for each student. Big Picture Education believes that true learning takes place where each student is an active participant in their education, when their course of study is personalised by teachers, parents and mentors who know them well, and when school-based learning is blended with outside experiences that heighten the student's interest.

Book week celebrations at Launceston Big Picture School happened today.

Our Book Week celebrations were brought to life as the parade commenced at a moving, grooving pace. Staff and students embraced the spirit of Book Week, dressing up and strutting their stuff while the Staff band played music in the background.

A delicious pizza lunch was enjoyed adding to the fun and giving everyone a chance to relax connect and enjoy one another’s company. Followed by students rocking out and entertaining the school with their talents.

Today we, Launceston Big Picture School created a story of our own.

The sun was shining, lunch and party food were served and our school came together to support our resident Essendon supporter to celebrate 8000 days since Essendon has won a final (thanks to Tay our football guru for organising the celebration).
