Book Week comes to Newstead College π
All sorts of characters (that looked suspiciously like some of our staff and students) filled up the library today to celebrate Book Week!
The event demonstrated creativity, community, and a love for characters, storytelling, and books.
Congratulations to all the raffle winners, and well done to our amazingly dressed school community πππ

This years theme for Wear it Purple Day is βColours of Courageβ. The colours reflect the diversity of identities, experiences and stories within our community.
It honours the courage of our LGBTQIA+ young people as they continue to build community, connection and visibility, and our allies who choose to stand up, speak out and continue to create safe and inclusive spaces. ππ³οΈβπ
Please join us this Friday 28th Aug in wearing purple or the rainbow, in celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community!

π Great to see both our Boys and Girls teams proudly represent Newstead College at the Tasmanian College Basketball Championships on the weekend.
While there were some standout individual performances, the real highlight was the fantastic team spirit, continuous improvement throughout the tournament, and the fun everyone had along the way. π

National Skills Week 2026
This National Skills Week, we're celebrating the incredible opportunities that Vocational Education and Training (VET) provides for young people as they explore their future careers.
VET gives students the chance to develop practical, industry-relevant skills, gain real-world experience, and build pathways into further study, apprenticeships, traineeships, and employment.
At Newstead College, we're fortunate to offer a diverse range of VET programs that support students interested in a wide variety of industries and career pathways. Whether their passion lies in health, trades, hospitality, hair and beauty, early childhood education and care or beyond, our students can start building valuable skills while they complete their secondary education.
We're proud to help students discover their strengths, pursue their interests, and take confident steps towards their future careers.
