Saturday, 2 hours of practicing our art and then 4.5 hours freshening up our training areas with a fresh coat or two of paint! Putting in the work and we are looking good!!
Still a little more finessing to do over time, but it’s made a huge difference. To complement our fresh paint we have also now had our smaller training area completed with a new mat.

Come along to our next session to check it all out!

Female self defence - Monday 6:30-8:00pm
Mixed classes - Wednesday 6:30-8:00pm and Saturday- 10:00am - 12:00pm

Practising Martial Arts is not just a sport or self defence, it’s a lifestyle. When you join a club and train in the dojo you are not just a student, you unknowingly become a part of something much deeper. A bond over this art that creates deep friendships, teamwork and connection unlike any other sport. Once that connection is made, not only is the art a part of you for life, but so are those who you have practised with, honed your skills with and literally trained through blood sweat and tears with, wether you train regularly or life has lead you in a different direction, you will always be part of this unique bonding.

With this said, we are sad to announce one of our own has sadly passed away. Life led him in a different direction, but his art stayed with him forever and the bonds will always remain.

Rest easy Sensei Neville ‘Nev’ Marks. 🥋

⭐️Notice to students⭐️
As you may be aware, PCYC Newstead is closing down and reopening as PCYC North at Mowbray.
Ju Jitsu Karate - Tae ‘Kyon Karate, will NOT be moving to this new location as we require a dedicated, permanent, safe training space for our Martial Art. With this in mind, Ju Jitsu Karate - Tae ‘Kyon Karate have a new training space which we will be sharing with a number of other local Martial Arts styles to provide this environment.
To prepare this new space we are taking a short hiatus in our normal training schedule. At this stage it is looking to be approximately 3 weeks, we will keep this page updated with all details and start dates as they arise.

Until then, keep practicing your art, keep moving and reach out for any questions you have and we will endeavour to answer them.

What a Dojo means to a Martial Artist:

A dojo is a Japanese term meaning "place of the way" (道場), serving as a dedicated training hall for martial arts like karate. More than a gym, it is a sacred space for physical, mental, and spiritual self-improvement. It acts as a disciplined environment for learning techniques, respect, and philosophy. 🥋
