This week for Reconciliation Week, Tank came to visit our service and shared meaningful conversations with the children about reconciliation and what it means to the Traditional Owners of the land we learn and play on each day. ❤️🖤💛
The children participated in a handprint painting experience using the colours of the Aboriginal flag, creating beautiful artworks while engaging in discussions about connection, respect, culture, and community. Through hands on experiences like these, children are supported to develop an understanding of belonging and appreciation for First Nations peoples and histories.
It was a special experience filled with curiosity, learning, and little paint covered hands.

Today all rooms took part in National Simultaneous Storytime and shared the beautiful story Luna Roo Kangaroo Baller.
There was so much excitement, imagination and laughter as the children joined thousands of other children across Australia all reading together at the same time. Moments like these remind us just how magical stories can be in helping children connect, learn and dream big.

🖤❤️💛💚💙🤍 At Green Leaves Early Learning, we’re proudly All In for National Reconciliation Week 2026 🖤❤️💛💚💙🤍
From 27 May to 3 June, we come together to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.
Reconciliation starts with all of us, including our youngest learners. Through moments of curiosity, storytelling, music, art and connection, children begin to build understanding, respect and a sense of belonging.
Because every small conversation, shared experience and learning moment helps us to build towards a more inclusive future, together.

Cooking classes with Fahad were in full swing this week as our Pre Kinder chefs stepped into the kitchen and whipped up their very own raspberry ice cream! From whisking and mixing to taste testing the very important chef samples, our little cooks explored new textures, practised turn taking and worked together as a team.
There were big smiles, curious minds and plenty of tiny chef energy filling the room. Learning never tasted so sweet!
Green Leaves culinary experiences encourage children to build confidence, develop life skills and create positive connections with food through hands on experiences.

Today our Junior Kinder children stepped into the world of pottery during our Creative Collection art classes, exploring the clay wheel with excitement and curiosity. Tiny hands became little creators as they experimented with spinning clay, shaping, pressing and discovering how their movements transformed the material right before their eyes.
This hands on experience encouraged creativity, fine motor development and persistence while also sparking plenty of joy and wonder. There were smiles, messy hands and some very proud little artists in the making.

Look at all these chickens… well, soon to be chickens.
Our Tiny Tots have been carefully observing the eggs each day and patiently waiting for the exciting moment they begin to hatch. There has been so much wonder, curiosity and gentle care shown as the children learn about the life cycle right before their eyes. We cannot wait to welcome our fluffy little visitors into the room.

Have you noticed the new signs appearing around the centre lately?
These weren’t made by adults. They were created by our children. Every wobbly line, carefully formed letter, and thoughtful mark tells a story of belonging, ownership, and voice.
At Green Leaves Launceston, we believe children deserve to see themselves reflected in their environment. When children’s voices are made visible, they begin to understand something powerful. “This place is mine too. My ideas matter here.”
These signs are more than labels on walls. They are evidence of children contributing to their community, making decisions, sharing meaning, and leaving their fingerprints on the spaces they move through each day.
There is something incredibly special about watching a child proudly point to a sign and say, “I made that.”

Today our hearts were full as we took part in Do It For Dolly Day 💙
Dressed in blue, our children and educators came together to talk about kindness. The kind that makes people feel safe, included, cared for and seen. Throughout the day there were so many beautiful moments of connection, understanding and compassion between the children.
These conversations might seem small now, but they help build a generation that knows how important it is to be kind to others and stand up for one another. Because sometimes a little bit of kindness can change someone’s whole day 🌼

On Friday we celebrated Mother’s Day and what a beautiful afternoon it was. Thank you to everyone who came along and shared in our afternoon tea, it meant so much to have you there. Days like this remind us that being a mum comes in so many forms. It’s in the quiet moments, the big sacrifices, the endless patience and the unconditional love that fills a room without needing to be seen. We are so lucky to witness the care, strength and warmth you bring into your children’s lives every single day. 💛
