Natalie here runs Addisons Family Daycare in Latrobe and on a weekly basis provides care for 50 children from 35 families in the area.

Like so many areas across the country, Natalie has hundreds of children on her waitlist wanting to access family daycare.

For months now I have been calling on the Federal Labor Government to implement recommendation 5.3 from the Productivity Commission’s Report into Childcare, which would allow dual modal childcare centres to operate in rural and regional areas like Latrobe and Spreyton. While there are severe childcare shortages particularly in regional and remote areas this is the least the Government can do.

The Minister has been sitting on this for far too long and needs to act now.
