🚀✨ SPACE WEEK!🌙🌟

Our little astronauts blasted off into space for some out-of-this-world sensory fun! 🪐

The children created their very own play dough galaxies, using star-shaped cutters, foil circles and stars to design planets, stars and cosmic creations. ⭐️🌌

To make the experience even more exciting, our educators created a spaceship photo station, where the children could stand behind, pretend to blast off and let their imaginations take them on an adventure through space! 🚀👩‍🚀👨‍🚀

This experience supported fine motor development, creativity, sensory exploration, imaginative play and hand-eye coordination, while encouraging the children to explore the wonder of space. 🌎✨

🏉✨ SPRING SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM – KINDER FOOTY FUN!✨🏉

Our Kinder children got into the footy spirit full of creativity, imagination and team pride! 💙❤️💛

The children designed their very own Australian Rules football guernseys, choosing their colours and creating unique designs inspired by their favourite teams. They also explored footy-themed playdough, creating footballs, players, boots and other footy-inspired shapes. 🏉🎨

Through these experiences, the children were supported to develop their fine motor skills, creativity, decision-making, hand-eye coordination and self-expression, while enjoying the excitement of the footy finals season! 🙌🏉

🏉✨ Spring School Holiday Program – Day 2! ✨🏉�AFL Jersey Design Studio 🎨🏆
Day 2 of our Spring School Holiday Program brought the excitement of the AFL finals to life with our AFL Jersey Design Studio! 🏉❤️💙
Our Junior Toddlers got into the footy spirit with a fun AFL-themed sensory experience, inspired by the two clubs competing in the finals. The sensory trays were filled with shredded paper in the teams’ colours, with little cardboard AFL footballs hidden throughout for the children to discover! 🔎🏉

The creativity continued as the children became junior jersey designers! 🎨👕 They were invited to create their very own AFL jerseys, choosing the colours and designs they wanted. It was wonderful to see their individual personalities and creativity shine through as they proudly designed their own team colours! 🌈✨

What a fun way to combine sport, sensory play and creativity! 🏉🎨💙❤️

💛💙 SPRING SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAM – DAY ONE! 💙💛

We kicked off our Spring & Summer Holiday Program with a little MINION MADNESS! 🍌💙💛

Our children came dressed in their best Minion-inspired outfits or yellow and got ready for a day full of fun, creativity and sensory play!
🎨 Crafty Creations – Our Junior Toddlers got creative with Minion-themed crafts and colourful activities.
🟡 Minion Play-Doh Fun – The children used Play-Doh to create their very own Minions, exploring their creativity and fine motor skills along the way.
🍌 Banana Sensory Tub – Our little explorers searched high and low to find hidden Minions amongst the bananas! 👀💛
🎨 Group Painting – The children worked together on a Minion-inspired painting, encouraging teamwork, creativity and lots of fun!

What a fantastic way to start our holiday program! We can’t wait to see what adventures the rest of the program brings! ☀️🌈

We’re so excited for two weeks of fun, creativity, exploration and adventure at Story House Early Learning Lara!💚

🍌💛 WEEK ONE | 21–25 SEPTEMBER
Monday: Minions Take Over Story House— come dressed in yellow or as a Minion!
🏉 Tuesday: AFL Design Studio
🍪 Wednesday: Football Cookie Creations
🥧 Thursday: Grand Final Fever— footy colours, pies, sausage rolls and team spirit!

👕 Footy Colours: Children are invited to wear their favourite footy colours from Tuesday–Thursday and get into the Grand Final spirit!

🏆 FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER: Our service will be CLOSED for the Grand Final Public Holiday.

🌈✨ WEEK TWO | 28 SEPTEMBER–2 OCTOBER
🎊 Monday: Piñata Fiesta— creating our very own piñatas!
👩‍🚀 Tuesday: A Glimpse Into the Future— dress as the person you dream of becoming!
🫧 Wednesday: Slime, Bubbles & Beyond!— messy, hands-on science fun!
🏉 Thursday: NRL & Beyond— wear your favourite NRL colours and celebrate the NRL Grand Final!
🌮 Friday: Mexican Fiesta— tacos, Mariachi music and fiesta fun!

🦷✨ 6-Monthly Dentist Visit at Story House Lara!✨🦷

We are so lucky to be able to offer our Story House Lara families the choice of having their children’s teeth checked right here at the centre, in a safe, familiar and calming environment💙

Our friendly dentist visits Story House Lara every 6 months, giving children the opportunity to have their oral health checked regularly and helping to build positive experiences around visiting the dentist from an early age. 🪥😁

Having these visits at our centre can help children feel more comfortable and confident, as they are surrounded by familiar educators and their friends. It also helps reduce the nerves that can sometimes come with visiting a new or unfamiliar environment.

Regular dental checks help support:
✨ Healthy teeth and gums
✨ Early identification of any dental concerns
✨ Positive oral hygiene habits
✨ Children becoming familiar with dental check-ups
✨ Building confidence and reducing anxiety around the dentist
✨ Educating children about caring for their teeth and their beautiful smi

🐠🦈 KINDER 4 AQUARIUM ADVENTURE! 🐧🌊
What an incredible day our Kinder 4 children had exploring the wonders of the ocean at SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium! 💙

The adventure began the moment we hopped onto the bus! 🚌 The children were amazed watching the world go by, taking in the busy city streets and Melbourne’s skyline as we made our way into the city. 🏙️✨

Once we arrived, there was so much to discover! The children explored the aquarium’s many attractions and came face-to-face with some incredible underwater creatures. 🐟 They observed seahorses and crabs, watched the playful penguins, marvelled at the sharks swimming overhead, compared fish of all different shapes and sizes, watched jellyfish gracefully float through the water and even spotted a crocodile! 🐊
There were plenty of “WOW!” moments, curious questions and conversations as the children observed, wondered and shared their ideas with one another. 💭💙

🌱 EYLF Connection:�This experience supported the children to develop their curiosity, confidence and connection with the natural world. Through observing and discussing the animals, children were encouraged to investigate, ask questions, make comparisons and build their understanding of living things and their environments. The excursion also supported children’s social skills, independence and sense of community as they experienced a new environment together.
