How many potatoes can you find? π₯π₯π₯
It's messy and dirty and the Toddlers loved harvesting for potatoes using a range of different tools today! Any type of gardening brings so many benefits like:
- Developing motor skills
- Encourages healthy eating
- Improves STEM skills
- Builds a love of nature πΏπ³

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Lest we forget β€οΈβ€οΈ

Flower Smash Art π·ππΏπΌ
The Kinder children collected leaves, flowers & parts of bushes along their community walk. The children then bought them back to the Kinder and were able to use their fine and gross motor skills by laying out their designs and using a hammer to create a beautiful piece of art.
Children who spend time in nature are more active and less prone to stress & anxiety. π€

Jim from Little Woodworkers came along to talk to us about wood and what we can use it for. Jim started with a Safety Talk, and the children got to try on safety spectacles, which was more for effect than any danger involved. π¨βπ§π
Jim then spoke to the children with a fun engaging demonstration about the importance of trees in sustaining our environment.
When Jim had completed his demonstration he explained each process clearly and facilitated the children where needed. Then the "serious" woodworking began. Each child got to be even more creative in their own individual way with the creative box of random wooden shapes, blocks and dowels.
Thankyou for a fun and hands on Incursion for our Kinder children! π³π¨π βπ²

Dinosaurs may be extinct, but they are alive and well loved in the childrenβs play today. π¦π¦πΎπ²π³πΏ
The Kinder children have been exploring a dinosaur small world within the sandpit. The children have continued to extend on this experience through reading dinosaur books where they are exposed to descriptive vocabulary such as long, tall, carnivores, herbivores, spikey, lumpy and more.
We discussed dinosaurs habitats and eating habits such as some dinosaurs eat plants (herbivores) and some eat meat (carnivore).
