What better way to kick off another exciting week than with our wonderful Book Week Parade! πŸ¨πŸπŸ¦‹πŸ“–

It was fantastic to see our students bring their favourite books and characters to life with so much creativity and enthusiasm. A huge congratulations to every student who participated, and a very special thank you to our families for the time, effort and imagination that went into creating such amazing costumes. Give a cheer for our Prep, 1/2, 3/4 & 5/6 Winners.
We will be posting more of the fantastic costumes, staff & student during the week, so keep an eye out!

Events like Book Week are about so much more than dressing up. They’re an opportunity to celebrate stories, spark imaginations and encourage our students to develop a lifelong love of reading, learning and achieving. 🌟

And there’s plenty more happening this week! Our senior students will take part in our annual Bug Blitz program at the arboretum 🐞🌿, before our Grade 3–6 students head to Koo Wee Rup Secondary College on Friday to watch Matilda the Musical. 🎭🎢

πŸͺ’ Skipping fever has hit LLPS!
The skipping craze has well and truly arrived at Lang Lang Primary School β€” and it seems even the staff aren’t immune! πŸ˜„ Students and staff have been jumping in, having fun and putting their skipping skills to the test. There have certainly been plenty of laughs along the way!

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ OUR NEW RUNNING TRACK IS OFFICIALLY OPEN! πŸŽ€βœ‚οΈ

A very special moment this week was cutting the ribbon to officially open our new running track surface!

Our School Captains and Junior School Council Representatives helped mark the occasion alongside special guests from Rotary and the Community Bendigo Bank Board.

We are incredibly grateful for the community support that has helped make this project possible. Our refreshed running track will be a fantastic resource for our students and the wider community for many years to come.

It’s only mid-week, but there is already plenty to celebrate at Lang Lang Primary School!

πŸ“š Learning in action including a special visit from Life Ed and Healthy Harold!πŸ¦’
Our classrooms continue to be busy places of learning, curiosity and connection, with students working hard and supporting one another.
There was also plenty of excitement as Life Ed and Healthy Harold the Giraffe visited our school. Harold entertained our students while helping them learn about staying healthy, making positive choices and looking after themselves. A fun and engaging way to bring important learning to life!

πŸ’ͺ Many hands make light work
Learning and teamwork extended into the school yard, where some of our students rolled up their sleeves to help our groundskeeper move gravel. It was wonderful to see students willingly lend a hand, demonstrating responsibility, teamwork and pride in their school.

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ And something BIG to celebrate… our running track refurbishment is complete!

What a fantastic result for our students, school and wider Lang Lang community. This project is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together for community.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone in our local community who contributed, supported and helped make the running track refurbishment possible. Your generosity and community spirit have created something our students can enjoy now and for many years to come.

πŸ“š Learning in Our Classrooms

πŸ”Ή Prep students have been learning how to measure and compare different objects based on their length, capacity and mass.

πŸ”Ή Years 1–2 have been reading Can You Teach a Fish to Climb a Tree? and exploring the different parts of the book as they develop their skills in retelling the story.

πŸ”Ή Years 3–4 have started their unit on time, learning how to read and represent time using analogue clocks. ⏰

πŸ”Ή Years 5–6 were very eager to finally discover the ending of their text study, How to Bee! Students applied their knowledge and understanding of the characters to complete character arcs and reflect on how they developed throughout the story. 🐝

🎀 Lions Club Speech Success

A huge congratulations to Indi and Violet for their fantastic efforts in the Lions Club speeches!

πŸ‘ Indi finished 2nd in the Grade 3/4 year group, while Violet won the night overall! πŸ† Violet will now represent LLPS in the next round.

We are incredibly proud of both students for having the confidence to represent our school and share their speeches. Well done! 🌟

πŸƒ LLPS is an Active School!

We’re also excited to share that LLPS has been recognised as an Active School! You may have noticed some of our new Active School signage around the school, recently installed by Trevor, our new maintenance worker. A big welcome to Trevor and thank you for helping our school look its best!

Across three action-packed days, our students embraced new experiences, challenged themselves and supported one another through activities including climbing, archery, team challenges, high ropes and plenty of camp fun.

There were smiles, nerves, laughter and some very proud moments as students stepped outside their comfort zones and showed wonderful courage, teamwork, resilience and independence. A massive thank you to our staff and everyone who helped make this memorable experience possible. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

🌟 A Big Week Ahead at Lang Lang Primary School! 🌟

We're looking forward to another exciting week of learning, leadership and new experiences at Lang Lang Primary School!

This week, we're proudly celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day, with this year's theme, "Living Our Truth." The day recognises the voices, stories, knowledge and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, while highlighting the importance of truth-telling as a foundation for identity, belonging and cultural strength.

After meeting with our School Cultural Leaders, Sophie, Isabella and Lilly, students shared wonderful ideas for activities to mark the occasion. Throughout the week, classes will be exploring First Nations perspectives through storytelling using Aboriginal symbols, reading books that celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, and enjoying a game of Marngrook. Our Grade 1/2 students have already begun these meaningful learning experiences, with other classes participating in a variety of activities across the week.

We're also excited to cheer on our selected Grade 3–6 students as they present their speeches in the Lions Club Public Speaking Competition. We wish all of our speakers the very best and know they will represent Lang Lang Primary School with confidence and pride.

On Wednesday, our Grade 3/4 students head off to Malmsbury Adventure Camp! We know they'll embrace every challenge, strengthen friendships, develop resilience and create memories that will last a lifetime. We wish them a fantastic camp experience and can't wait to hear all about their adventures when they return.

It's shaping up to be a wonderful week full of learning, cultural celebration, leadership and adventure. We look forward to sharing all the highlights with our school community.

Have a fantastic week, everyone! πŸ’™πŸ’›

What a wonderful way to finish another fantastic week of learning, growth and achievement at Lang Lang Primary School!

A huge congratulations to all of our students who were recognised at today's assembly with Reading Awards and our Be Safe, Be Responsible & Be Respectful classroom awards. We are incredibly proud of the way our students continue to demonstrate our school values every day. Your hard work, kindness and positive attitudes make our school a wonderful place to learn.

This week has been filled with exciting learning opportunities across the school. Students have continued to build their literacy skills through engaging reading activities, explored new concepts in their classrooms, and embraced hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity and collaboration. It's been wonderful to see students supporting one another and giving their best in everything they do.

Thank you to our dedicated staff for creating engaging learning experiences, and to our families for your ongoing support throughout the term. Together we are building confident learners and a strong school community.

πŸŽ‰πŸ’― Preps Celebrating 100 Days of School! πŸ’―πŸŽ‰

Today was a day to remember as our wonderful Prep students celebrated their 100th day of school at Lang Lang Primary School!

Our Preps embraced the occasion by dressing up as adorable "Old Souls," with fantastic costumes featuring grey hair, glasses, walking sticks, cardigans, and plenty of character! They certainly looked as though they had aged 100 years overnight, bringing lots of smiles and laughter to everyone at school. πŸ‘΅πŸ‘΄βœ¨

The celebrations didn't stop there. One of the most touching moments of the day was our Celebration Walk, where students from across the school lined the basketball court to cheer, clap, and celebrate our youngest learners. It was a beautiful display of kindness, encouragement, and school spirit, showing our Preps just how proud our entire school community is of everything they have achieved.

In just 100 days, our Preps have grown in confidence, developed new friendships, embraced challenges, and become valued members of our Lang Lang Primary School community. We couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them.

Congratulations to our amazing Prep students on this wonderful milestone, and thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive families, and all of the students who helped make today such a special celebration.

Here's to the next 100 days of learning, growing, and creating memories together! β€οΈπŸ’™

πŸŽ‰ Mid-Week Learning at Lang Lang Primary School! πŸŽ‰

It's been another fantastic week of learning, discovery and celebration across our school!

πŸ’― 100 Days of Prep – Join Our Celebration!
Tomorrow marks a very special milestone as our Prep students celebrate 100 Days of Prep! We are so proud of everything our youngest learners have achieved during their first 100 days of school.

To celebrate, all students and staff will create a Celebration Corridor (Guard of Honour) on the basketball court at 3:15pm tomorrow (Thursday 30 July) for our Prep students to walk through and be recognised for their wonderful efforts.

Prep families are warmly invited to arrive a little earlier for afternoon pick-up and join us in celebrating this special occasion. We'd love to have you there as we cheer on our Preps and recognise this memorable milestone together.

πŸ“š A Virtual Visit with Andy Griffiths
Our students had an exciting opportunity to join bestselling Australian author Andy Griffiths for a virtual visit, where he shared insights into his writing journey and introduced his brand-new book. Students loved hearing from one of Australia's favourite authors and left feeling inspired to read, write and let their imaginations run wild!

πŸ§ͺ Science Fun Across the School
Our Grade 1/2 students have been getting hands-on in Science, making their very own paper from recycled materials. It was a fantastic way to explore sustainability while learning about the papermaking processβ€”and there were plenty of smiles along the way!

Meanwhile, our Grade 3/4 students became junior scientists as they investigated viscosity by running liquid races! By testing how different liquids travelled across paper, students made predictions, observed results and discovered how different liquids behave in a fun and not all MESSY & engaging experiment.

We look forward to celebrating with our Prep students and families tomorrow! πŸ’›πŸ’™
