Something delicious is about to happen… 👩‍🍳✨

Today we’re rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck into some baking! Measuring, pouring, mixing and a little taste-testing (of course 😉) – such a fun way to build early maths skills, fine motor strength and confidence in the kitchen.

There’s nothing better than little hands helping and big smiles when it all comes together 💛

🐛 C is for Caterpillar 🐛

Today in our Very Hungry Caterpillar week we focused on the letter “C” and got busy creating our very own caterpillars!

The children used paper plates cut into a “C” shape and carefully glued on green squares to make the caterpillar’s body, before adding their little heads to bring them to life. There was so much concentration, creativity and pride as each child created their own unique caterpillar.

This activity supported early letter recognition, fine motor skills and creativity, all while linking back to our much-loved story. It was so lovely to see the children making connections between the letter “C” and caterpillars 🐛

Learning through play, a little bit of glue, and a lot of fun 💚

Today we’ve been diving into the magical world of The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛💚

The children have absolutely loved bringing the story to life through hands-on play, and one of our favourite activities was pear stamping. Using real pears dipped in bright green paint, the children explored creating their own “caterpillar trails” across the paper. There was lots of excitement, a little bit of mess, and so much creativity!

This activity wasn’t just fun, it also supported the children’s fine motor skills, coordination, and sensory exploration as they squished, pressed, and experimented with the paint. We talked about the foods from the story, the life cycle of a caterpillar, and watched as their artwork transformed into beautiful, unique masterpieces.

It’s been a day full of imagination, storytelling, and messy play… just the way we like it! 🐛🍐

Today’s little Easter-inspired sensory setup was an absolute hit 🐰🥕

The children explored a beautiful tray filled with orange rice, creating a vibrant “carrot patch” alongside soft greenery, mini carrots, speckled eggs, and our sweet little bunny. It didn’t take long before little hands were digging, scooping, pouring, and a bit of imaginative bunny storytelling 🐇

This play supported fine motor development, sensory exploration, and encouraged creative thinking as the children created their own little worlds within the tray. There’s something magical about simple setups that spark such big imaginations ✨

Safe to say… the bunny had a very busy day being fed carrots! 🥕😄
