Your incredible effort and creativity was evident and students truly embraced their characters. What a wonderful way to celebrate a love of reading! ❤️📚

Year 1/2 Toy Expo
Students had a fabulous time participating in a toy expo. They had to make three toys as a part of their Science unit and explored how the toys moved with forces. Students spent the afternoon testing their toys and thinking about which toy they enjoyed the most. They will also be writing about their favourite toy in English.

We loved welcoming our Landsborough Community Kindergarten friends to Landsborough State School today. Mrs Barry taught them how to use our school pedestrian crossing safely, then they enjoyed special story time in the library with Mrs Clark. 🚸📚
Thank you to our kindy visitors for bringing such joy and curiosity to our school! 💚

It's Book Week!
This is one of our favourite weeks of the year, because it involves two of our favourite things - books and dressing up!

Tomorrow is our Book Week dress-up day, where students are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. Parents and carers are invited to join us for our special Book Week parade at 8.40am in the hall. 📖

A reminder that our 2027 Prep Parent Information night will be held tomorrow night, Wednesday 26th August, in our school hall from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. If you have a child starting Prep at LSS in 2027, we encourage you to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

PBL Update
5 Faces – Recognising Our Emotions
At Landsborough State School, we use the 5 Faces tool to help students recognise how they are feeling and understand the strategies they can use to become calm, regulated and ready to learn.
We know that every emotion is normal — the goal isn’t to always feel like a 5, but to notice our feelings and build the skills to return to the Learning Zone when challenges arise.

🌈 MONSTAR FUN RUN UPDATE🌈
Our P&C's Monstar Colour Fun Run will be held on Friday 18 September. This is our major school fundraiser for 2026 and a wonderful way to end the term! This year we are fundraising to purchase new sports house marquees/shade shelters.
Each week we will announce a new weekly colour run challenge.

The winners for CHALLENGE 1 are Prep L & 3/4R. Yes, we had a tie! Both classes had 16 students registered as of 3pm Friday 21 August, and they will receive 15 mins extra playtime. 👏🤸🤸‍♀️
Both Prep 1/Z and 3/4D were close behind in second place, each with 14 students registered.

CHALLENGE 2 – The next challenge is……The class that has the highest fundraising total by 3pm Friday 28 August will receive an icy pole party!
