🎹✨ Music is filling our Kinder 2 room! ✨🎹

Our Kinder 2 children are loving their beautiful new piano! 🎶 It has quickly become a favourite, providing opportunities for creativity, self-expression, and joyful learning every day.

We are incredibly lucky to have our talented Kinder 2 teacher, Candice, who shares her passion for music by playing the piano while the children sing along, dance, and enjoy magical musical moments together. It has also been wonderful to see the children taking turns so respectfully and caring for this special resource.

A heartfelt thank you to Macy for purchasing the piano and helping us create even more enriching learning experiences for our children. 💙

We look forward to sharing many more musical moments with our Me For Kids Thomastown community! 🎹🎵

💐 What a beautiful day celebrating the special people in our children’s lives with a lovely Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at Me For Kids Thomastown Learning Centre 💐

We were so happy to welcome mums, grandmothers, and family members into our centre to share this meaningful occasion together ❤️

The children were excited to spend time with their loved ones, enjoy afternoon tea together, and proudly share the special gifts and experiences they had prepared 🎁✨

It was wonderful to see so many smiles 😊, cuddles 🤗, conversations 💕, and precious moments shared throughout the afternoon.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and helped make the celebration so warm and memorable. We truly appreciate the love, care, and support you give your children every day. 💖

🍌🍫 From Conversation to Creation! 🍫🍌

During morning tea, we began discussing our favourite fruits. One of our kinder friends shared that their favourite fruit is banana, while another said their favourite “sometimes food” is chocolate.

By listening to the children’s voices and following their emerging interests, they decided they wanted to make chocolate banana bread — so that’s exactly what we did!

Using fresh ingredients, the beautiful smell of chocolate banana bread soon filled the centre. The children loved measuring, mixing and seeing their idea come to life.

We’d love to share the recipe so you can enjoy this experience at home together 🤍

Ingredients:
• 2 ripe bananas, mashed with a fork
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 3/4 cup milk
• 120ml melted butter or oil
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1.5 cups self-raising flour

Method:
Mix all ingredients together and whisk. Pour 3/4 of the mixture into a prepared loaf tin. Add 1/4 cup cocoa to the remaining batter and stir. Pour the chocolate batter on top and lightly swirl through with a spoon. Bake until golden and cooked through.

🌈✨ Today we celebrated Holi at Me For Kids Thomastown Learning Centre! ✨🌈

Our centre was filled with laughter as the air became an explosion of rainbow colours! All of our children and educators had so much fun celebrating together, and we were so grateful to have one of our parents join in on the festivities.

Holi, the Festival of Colours, celebrates the arrival of spring and symbolises joy, love, and the triumph of good over evil. It was a beautiful way to embrace culture, diversity and new beginnings within our community.

We celebrated Shrove Tuesday by getting busy in the kitchen making delicious pancakes!

Our children were actively involved in the experience — measuring ingredients, spooning flour, pouring milk, and whisking the batter together. This hands-on activity supported their early maths skills (measuring and counting), fine motor development, teamwork, and confidence in trying new experiences.

The excitement on their faces as they watched the batter mix together — and of course, enjoyed their tasty pancakes — was priceless! 😋

What a wonderful way to learn through cooking while celebrating a special tradition together.

Happy Lunar New Year!

To kickstart our Lunar New Year celebrations, we were delighted to welcome Chef Ning to our centre for a special Family Skill Day. Together, the children participated in making healthy dumplings, learning about traditional cooking practices while developing their fine motor skills and teamwork.

This hands-on experience was a wonderful way to explore culture through food, and it was truly enjoyed by all. Thank you to Chef Ning for sharing her time and expertise with our children and families as we celebrated this special occasion together. 🧧✨

Our amazing Kinder friends have spent January settling into their new rooms and WOW 🤩—they’ve been busy exploring!

We’ve noticed a big interest in sensory and water play, so we’ve been setting up exciting new play spaces to follow the children’s interests.

Watching their curiosity, creativity, and confidence grow through play has been such a joy!

We can’t wait to see where their interests take us next 💙
