📚🎶 Book Week is here at Lalor Gardens Primary School! 🎶📚

We’re getting ready for a wonderful week of celebrating books, stories and the joy of reading! 📖✨

This year’s theme is “Symphony of Stories” 🎵📚 — celebrating the many voices, characters, adventures and wonderful worlds that come together to create the stories we love.

We have lots of fun activities planned throughout the week, with plenty of opportunities for our students to get creative, explore new stories and celebrate their favourite books and characters! 🌈🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️🐻

And, of course, we’re looking forward to our annual Book Week Parade on Thursday afternoon from 2:30pm in our Hall 🎉👑📖 We can’t wait to see our students bring their favourite characters to life through their amazing costumes!

Let the Symphony of Stories begin! 🎶📚💫

🔬✨ Science Week at Lalor Gardens PS! 🧪🧬⚡

To recognise Science Week 2026, our amazing JSC leaders visited our younger classes across the week to run a range of fun and engaging experiments, exploring chemistry, biology and physics. 🧪🌱🔍 Through each experiment, our students had the chance to investigate, ask questions and discover that science really is all around us and can be be explored in lots of creative ways! 🌎💡

A huge thank you to Mrs Beckett and our JSC leaders for organising such a creative and exciting way for our students to explore and celebrate all things science this week! It was so much fun. Who knows… we may have some future scientists in the making! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬🚀👏💚

We’ve got an exciting few weeks ahead at Lalor Gardens Primary School, with lots of special events planned for our students, families and wider school community! 💙❤️💛💚

We’re so excited to be hosting these special days and having opportunities for our school community to come together, celebrate and make some wonderful memories. 🥰

📚 Thursday 27 August – Book Week Dress Up & Parade
Come dressed as your favourite book character and join us for a special Book Week assembly and parade! 📖✨

👨‍👧‍👦 Thursday 3 September – Father’s Day Stall & Open Afternoon
Our Father’s Day Gift Stall will run throughout the day, followed by our Open Afternoon from 2:35pm. 🎁💙

💛 Thursday 10 September – RUOK? Day
Students are encouraged to wear yellow as we come together to support RUOK? Day. Gold coin donation. 💛

🏆 Friday 18 September – Sport Colours Day, Sausage Sizzle & Parade
Wear your favourite sporting colours, enjoy a sausage sizzle and join us for our family Footy Parade at 1:40pm! 🏉🌭

SMILE SQUAD

Later this term, we are very fortunate to be offering our students free dental check-ups through the team at Smile Squad. We have been affiliated with the program for a number of years now as a way of helping our families access important dental care and support for their children.
Today we received some free oral health packs from the Smile Squad team in lead up to their visit. A big thank you from all of us to the Smile Squad group for this wonderful gift! 😁🦷

We had an unexpected visitor at Lalor Gardens today! This little guy decided to join us and spent the day cheekily evading our rescue plans. Thank you to our amazing team for looking out for him.

We are so lucky to live in a country with such incredible wildlife, it is a privilege to share our space with them.

If you ever have any wildlife that needs help, you can contact the Whittlesea Council who will connect you with Wildlife Rescue.
