Have you met Kate? 👀
Because if you haven’t… honestly, we need to talk.

Kate is a mother of three, pottery wheel gun, resin-pouring menace, creative mastermind and all-round beautiful human,
She is also hilariously, brutally, gloriously honest.
No sugar coating.
No pretending.
Just Kate.

She’ll tell you exactly what she thinks, usually while absolutely SMASHING IT on the pottery wheel, and then hit you with that infectious laugh that makes everyone else start laughing - usually when you don't know what you're laughing about.

She can throw clay like it's nobody’s business.
She can pour resin like a professional,
& she can make something beautiful out of pretty much anything.

We adore her for her talent.
We adore her for her chaos.
We adore her because she tells it like it is.
And mostly, we adore her because The Saltwater Creative just wouldn’t be the same without her 🤎

Saturday's are for clay play ✨
Join us tomorrow from 10am for a pinch pot mug class.

A one off clay sesh to ‘dip your toes’ into the amazingness that is claywork.
Learn the fundamental skills of working with clay and develop your own personal creativity.

During this class, we explore mindfulness meditation through the hand building method of clay play, while you create whatever your heart desires.
Come on down for an introduction to hand building - a 2 hour guided class where you’ll leave with a pinch pot drinking mug.

In the studio you might hear us mention test tiles & glaze recipes & think to yourself, what's that?

Test tiles are crafted to safely predict how glazes, slips, and textures will look and behave during a firing before applying them to finished ceramic artwork.

Glaze Recipes are written down step by step guides of which glazes were layered paired with a photograph, so that in future you can recreate the same/or similar finished pieces.

In saying all of that glaze can be temperamental and the end product varies on many external factors, that's why our first rule of pottery is don't get attached to the idea.
