Preparing for the Years Ahead at Rissalah College

Today, Rissalah College had the pleasure of hosting two important HSC Parent Information Sessions for our families as we prepare our students for the senior years of their education.

During the day, we welcomed our Year 10 students and their parents as they prepare to transition into Year 11 and begin their HSC journey. We also welcomed our Year 11 students and their parents as they prepare to enter Year 12 and undertake their 2027 HSC.

Both sessions provided families with valuable information about the expectations, requirements and assessments ahead, as well as the importance of preparation, commitment and a strong partnership between home and school.

At Rissalah College, we believe that the journey towards the HSC is about much more than academic achievement. It is about nurturing confident, resilient and well-rounded young people and supporting them every step of the way.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff for their time, knowledge and commitment, and to our wonderful parents for their attendance, trust and continued support. Your partnership means so much to us and plays an important role in the success of our students.

To our Year 10 and Year 11 students, we are excited for all that lies ahead and look forward to supporting you throughout these important years.

Umrah Mubarak Dinner

Alhamdulillah, it was a great honour for Rissalah College to host a special Umrah Mubarak Dinner celebrating our wonderful students and staff who were blessed with the opportunity to perform Umrah this year.

It was a beautiful evening of reflection, gratitude and celebration, as we came together to honour this deeply meaningful journey and the spiritual experience it brings.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff and our amazing students for allowing us to share in this special occasion. We are also sincerely grateful to our School Board and our Chairman, whose continued support, guidance and commitment make this journey possible and ensure that, year after year, the Umrah experience remains so memorable and meaningful for our school community.

ONE COMMUNITY. ONE FAMILY. ONE BEAUTIFUL LEGACY.

Last week, we shared with our Rissalah College community the heartbreaking news that four of our beautiful students had recently lost their beloved mother to cancer.

In her honour, we set out on a mission—not simply to raise funds, but to create a lasting **Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity)** in her name and ensure that her legacy of love and goodness continues to live on.

And what happened next was truly extraordinary.

Our students, staff, SRC, and incredible parent community came together as one family. Everyone played a part. Every contribution, every act of kindness, every donation and every effort came together to turn a vision into something truly meaningful.

Together, we raised an incredible $13,000.

And today, we are honoured and humbled to share that the four girls were able to purchase a mosque in their beloved mother’s name, creating a lasting source of reward and blessing for her, insha’Allah.

Our Chairman, Mr Imad El Masri further demonstrated his generosity and commitment to our community by contributing the additional funds required to complete the purchase of the mosque.

This is so much more than a fundraiser…

It is a testament to what can happen when a community stands together during someone’s darkest moment.

It is about compassion.
It is about faith.
It is about supporting one another.
And most importantly, it is about leaving a legacy of الخير (goodness) that continues long after we are gone.

I could not be more proud of our Rissalah College community. Our staff, students, SRC and parents have once again shown that Rissalah is not just a school—it is a family❤️

To everyone who contributed, supported, donated, encouraged or simply shared in this journey, thank you. You have helped turn grief into a beautiful legacy.

May Allah ﷻ accept this Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of their mother, shower her with mercy, elevate her rank, fill her grave with light, and grant her the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus.

And may Allah ﷻ reward every single person who contributed to this beautiful cause.

A mother’s legacy will now live on through every prayer, every act of worship and every moment of الخير that takes place in this mosque.

📚✨ Where Stories Stepped Off the Page and Into Our School! ✨📚
Once upon a school day, the hallways of Rissalah College High School transformed into a world where books came alive.
From courageous heroes and mysterious villains to timeless literary icons and beloved fictional favourites, our annual High School Character Parade was a spectacular celebration of imagination, creativity and the joy of reading. Every costume told a story, every character sparked curiosity, and every student brought the magic of literature to life.
At Rissalah College, we believe that reading is more than turning pages—it is about discovering new worlds, exploring different perspectives and inspiring lifelong learning. Our Character Parade reminded us that behind every great book is a character who has the power to challenge, inspire and stay with us long after the final chapter.
📖 Today, our students didn't just read the stories... they became them.
A huge congratulations to all of our students and staff for embracing the spirit of literature with such enthusiasm, creativity and school pride. Thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable day such a wonderful success.
✨ Because every great adventure begins with a book... and every great reader has a story to tell.

📚✨ Literacy Week Has Officially Begun at Rissalah College! ✨📚
What an incredible start to a week dedicated to celebrating creativity, imagination and the power of literacy!
Our high school students immersed themselves in a range of exciting, hands-on experiences that brought storytelling, collaboration and critical thinking to life.

🎬 Year 7 stepped into the imaginative world of Claymation, designing unique characters, constructing intricate backgrounds and producing their own stop-motion films. From fantasy worlds to original storylines, students transformed their creative ideas into captivating visual narratives.

✏️ Year 8 embraced the art of graphic storytellingthrough an engaging cartooning workshop. Students developed their own graphic novel characters, explored visual techniques and watched their creations come to life through expressive illustrations and compelling narratives.

🏃‍♀️🧩 Years 9 & 10 took learning beyond the classroom, heading into Darling Harbour to compete in the Great Race Sydney. Working collaboratively, students solved cryptic clues, navigated the city, overcame physical and mental challenges, and raced their way towards the finish line in an unforgettable adventure that celebrated teamwork, resilience and problem-solving.

Literacy extends far beyond the pages of a book. It is about communicating ideas, creating stories, thinking critically and engaging with the world in meaningful ways. Today's activities perfectly embodied these values, allowing students to develop essential literacy skills through creativity, collaboration and authentic real-world experiences.

📖 Literacy opens doors. Imagination creates possibilities. Learning lasts a lifetime.
