💛 A heartfelt goodbye 💛
This week marks my last week at Goodstart Lake Munmorah, and I wanted to take a moment to say goodbye to all of our beautiful families, especially in case I don’t get the chance to see everyone before I leave.
After 8.5 years, it’s incredibly hard to put into words just how much this place and this community have meant to me.
Over the years, I’ve experienced so much — massive CCS reforms, regulation changes, a global pandemic and so many other challenges and changes within our industry. Through it all, the unwavering support from our families has meant more than you will ever know.
I also want to take a very special moment to thank my incredible team. ❤️
To the educators I have had the privilege of working alongside over the years — thank you. Thank you for your dedication, your passion, your resilience, your laughter, your support and, most importantly, for the love and care you show the children every single day.
There have been challenging days, busy days, emotional days and plenty of laughs along the way, but I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to share this journey with. I am so incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and of the difference you make in the lives of the children and families we care for.
Having the opportunity to work alongside families and share in the highs and lows of parenting has been one of the most rewarding, yet challenging, parts of my role. It has been such a privilege to watch so many beautiful children grow, learn, laugh and become the amazing little people they are. ❤️
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me with your beautiful children and for allowing me to be part of your family’s journey.
I’m leaving with a very full heart and so many incredible memories — memories of the children, the families, my team and all the little moments that made the last 8.5 years so special.
Goodstart Lake Munmorah will always hold a very special place in my heart. 💛

The research is clear 📚 reading aloud is one of the most powerful things we can do for our children.

When we read with a child, we’re doing far more than sharing a story. We’re building the foundations for language, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Decades of research shows that children who are read to regularly:

💛 Build stronger language skills
Hearing rich varied language in books exposes children to far more words than everyday conversation alone. This growing vocabulary helps them understand, communicate and make sense of the world.

💛 Develop early literacy skills long before they learn to read
Through stories, children learn how books work – that print carries meaning, that pages turn left to right, and that stories have a beginning, middle and end. These early understandings make learning to read feel familiar and exciting.

💛 Strengthen phonological awareness
Rhymes, rhythms and playful sounds help children hear the building blocks of language.
