It's time to call it a day: Young Warrior Hearts is closing its doors.
This decision didn’t happen overnight, nor has it been easy.
Listening to the soul is not all “love-and-light”, eh?
But all that aside, this decision is absolutely the right one 🙏
It takes a lot of courage to say goodbye to something that has had time & passion put into it.
Or as the ‘retired-brickie’ part of me would say:
“Kyles, it’s time to stop floggin’ a dead horse” 🤷♀️
I’ll now be giving my attention to:
~ writing & telling stories
~ making pickled goods
And of course ...
~ forging friendships with old blokes at the local shops
Everything that brought me joy as a kiddo.
Thank you to those of you who consistently supported YWH. You know who you are, and you are bloody legends 🫶
If you know someone in small biz, give them a fist pump. It's not an easy ball game.
See ya round like a rissole,

Meditation isn't all about being peaceful...
Or
sitting on a mountain-top in silence for hours on end (that one does sound like a rad time, however)...
Take it from a 10 year lad I've been supporting for a few years now.
He realised something after mediating regularly:
“Kylie! I never thought in a thousand million years that meditating would make me feel grateful for so many little things.” 🫶
These workshops go much deeper than mindful colouring and breathing balls.
But, we also have a good ol' chinwag & a solid belly laugh because these things are so valuable.
Kids are capable of incredible depth & wisdom.
They just need to be given the chance to realise it.

"UMatter Day Community Catch Up" 🫶
A fair dinkum example of attending to the world, rather than screaming at it.
It was an honour to speak on the lived-experience panel, alongside three legendary humans: Kate, Brendan, and Craig.
I shared how storytelling with my beautiful Pop helped me cope with a volatile childhood and the joy it continues to bring me as an adult.
I also spoke about how yoga supports me to be more comfortable with my true-weird-oddball self 🤪
My opening line:
“I practice yoga and meditation every day, and I am still sitting here sh*ttin’ myself. I am human"
A bit of a whimsical philosopher, a bit of a retired brickie 😅
Vicki, Lyndsay, and the UMatter legends: thank you for all you do.
Head on over to the UMatter_awareness socials & support a wonderful cause 🙏

At last week's workshop, a cheerful newbie arrived with some first-time nerves.
I assured Miss 8 that it was normal to feel a little anxious (and even old-fogie 40 year olds like me feel that way 😆).
Mum helped her settle in, and I welcomed some familiar faces into the studio:
“Make sure you take your shoes off and do a namaste!" - one little lad said to his mate 🕉
They knew the drill.
Mum said:
‘’Wow, there are a few regulars here ... the kids must love it!”
Then it dawned on me .... she was right.
“Ohh yeah, once they realise what it’s like, they always come back’’ 💫
And, that is saying something.
Maybe, it’s because young ones need this level of depth.
Maybe, it’s because they crave time in self-reflection.
Or maybe, it’s because they think I am a “super-cool- meditation-lady that tells good stories” 🤷♀️
