Book Week day 2 showcased another exciting day in the Library! 7L students attended an author's workshop with Nikke Gladwin. Nikke spoke about her journey to becoming an author and the inspiration behind her book. Students also loved seeing the star of the book, Henry, the golden doodle! Select Year 9 students also participated in a writing workshop on Tuesday afternoon. The workshop teleported students into an immersive Minecraft Education world, where they were asked to describe their surroundings and investigate a mystery in the world.

Well done to all students involved. It's been lovely seeing so many new and familiar faces in our library. Don't forget that Wednesday is our dress up day! Students are invited to come to the library at lunch for prizes and lollies!

The Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) team organised the Emergency & Support Services Taster Day. This was an interactive careers event to provide students with the opportunity to engage directly with professionals from a range of emergency, community, and support service organisations, gaining valuable insight into the diverse career pathways available within these sectors.

🏅 Proud Moment for Lake Illawarra High School! 🏅
Congratulations to Leilani Pickup for an outstanding performance at the NSW Snowsports State Championships! After qualifying at the ACT/Southern NSW Championships in July, Lani competed fiercely in the Snowboard Grand Slalom.
She finished an impressive 21st place, narrowly missing Nationals qualification by just 0.2 seconds !
