We are delighted to invite you to join us for a special Mother's Day Afternoon Tea on Saturday 10 May, 12:30pm arrival for 1:00pm start in the Southport State High Garden Quad. This will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and honour all the amazing mothers, grandmothers, aunts and sisters in our school community.
The afternoon will be filled with heartwarming performances by our talented students, showcasing their creativity and dedication. The SSHS Choir and our a few of our “Mary Poppins The Musical” cast will perform. In addition to the entertainment, we will be hosting exciting raffles with fantastic prizes, including overnight accommodation, restaurant dining vouchers and our ever popular SSHS $400 Bursary.
Of course, no afternoon tea is complete without delicious food! We will be serving a gourmet selection of savory and sweet treats, from freshly baked scones to delicate finger sandwiches, a gourmet charcuterie table and exquisite dessert bar—everything you need for a delightful and memorable experience.
We hope you can join us to make this Mother's Day celebration extra special. It's sure to be a fun, relaxing, and joyous event for everyone involved! Fathers, uncles and brothers are also encouraged to attend.

What's the cause? We are supporting our Creative Arts Department to purchase much needed equipment for their high class productions such as school musicals, drama and musical theatre showcases.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - FRIEND OR FOE?
Join us for the first 2024 SSHS Business Alliance Breakfast with the brilliant Dr David Tuffley.
David is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Ethics and CyberSecurity at Griffith University's School of ICT in Brisbane/Gold Coast. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His diverse expertise spans software engineering, cybersecurity, ethics, futurism, and communication. David’s research and writings on how emerging technologies like AI will transform employment and society have reached over 2.5 million readers globally.
